Went to pick up my reservation that I had for two weeks, they did not have my car nor did they have a car for the lady who had reserved one three weeks prior. Staff was very unhelpful. Will not go there again.

Booked a car with these guys via Priceline for Dec. 26th. Their directions said to go to the secondary shuttle pick-up point (after taking a shuttle from the airport), and then call them for pickup. Which I did--except NO ONE answered the phone. This was around 6 pm; what I found out later was that THESE IDIOTS CLOSE AT 5:00 PM! This was disclosed nowhere in the instructions, or in any of the info that was displayed before one goes ahead with the booking. What car rental outfit, operating at a major airport, closes at 5pm????????? Needless to say, now I'm left high and dry with no rental the day after Christmas. I eventually had to pay about 4x as much, thanks to this outfit.

So stressful. They don’t check you out when you leave with your receipt so they can slip in extra charges for insurance, gas and/or issues with the car. They said they’d send the receipt to show they closed out my account. Hours later - nothing. Called and they promised they’d send it in 10 minutes. Nothing by the next day. I had to call and threaten to bring in a lawyer family member - then they sent it immediately. NOT worth the discount.

I thought I was getting a deal by booking with them but it's been nothing but a nightmare. We arrived the shuttle from the airport took us to the rental car center. Their name was not on the sign. RED FLAG. So I call them. They directed us to go to the off site pick up area and a shuttle will come. When he arrived it was a black van. Only fit 1 family and they only had 1 shuttle van going at a time. Same person picking up and dropping off. When I called after waiting for over 45mins. They said they didn't have any cars available and we're waiting for the previous customers to return their cars before we can get ours. LUCKILY, ours was returned not too long after but I was a little iffy about if the car was even cleaned?????? Like how is this van already available and they had to turn away other people.... Makes noooooo sense!!!! The worker that picked us up told us they're behind bc one guest extended their rentals. Umm... but isn't that why you have extra cars???? Again sooooo confused how they operate. I felt bad other people were outside waiting while I was getting help because they'll have to go through exactly what I'm doing right now. Do yourself a favor, if you have a family or just want to save yourself the time. DON'T BOOK WITH THEM. NEVER AGAIN. I WAS FOOLED AND EVERYONE IN LINE WAITING FOR THEIR RENTAL CAR WITH ME FELT THE SAME WAY.

Worst experience ever. Didn't realize they were not at the main rental car center. Had to wait for an offsite shuttle that never came. We paid another shuttle to get us to NU. I arrived and they said they over booked the SUV I reserved and now I am waiting for them to source a van from another company.

NÜ Car Rentals San Diego falsely advertises Compact or Economy options on Expedia to attract customers with better ad placement, only to trick the customers into renting more expensive options upon arrival. Upon reaching the location, all three customers there were informed that the rental car company does not carry any compact car options at all. The representative openly acknowledged the absence of compact cars and revealed that they list them on Expedia to attract more customers, leading them to pay higher rates for alternative vehicle options. Numerous reviews highlight similar deceptive practices. The misleading listings on Expedia need to be addressed and rectified

Like a previous reviewer, we were led to believe we needed to purchase insurance which doubled the amount we paid. We basically signed an agreement with no stated charges. No one to meet us at the rental depot, we needed to call them for a shuttle to pick us up. At return time we stood waiting for a return shuttle for 30 minutes because they rented their shuttle out to someone else! We hoped to give them the benefit of the doubt on all of this but everything was extremely unprofessional.

First - there are no clear directions of how to get to this place. It’s not where rest of rental cars are located and took us over 2 hours to finally get 2 shuttles and then get car rented. There is no one available to accept rental return after 5pm and parking in dimly lit garage with 2 kids is not safe. We had to book an Uber to take us back to the airport because after 5pm there is no one in their office. This place is a BIG hassle.l I will never rent here again. At least the car was fine and we had no issues.

Rented car through Travelocity one week before. Arrived, had about 20 minute wait. Got my car so it's all good. They could use more employees tho.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is a rip off! I had a reservation for a rental and after airport delays and a full day of traveling, we arrived only to find that they closed several hours before and our prepaid rental car was no longer available. Alamo was gracious and upgraded our rental vehicle to a full size suv and nearly met the price. I’ve been trying to get someone on the phone for 3 hours now and still nothing. I’m so frustrated! I’ll never make this mistake again.

I was excited for my family trip and having run into some last minute flight changes, I reached out and booked a car through this agency. Upon arriving at the airport I called and was told the shuttle would meet me, over 30 minutes passed before the shuttle arrived back (it’s 10 mins from shuttle to business) and I waited with a newborn and small child. I finally get the business and they didn’t have the right car set up so they gave me another which had been overly sprayed inside with a cherry smell that I later discover his the trash stench from previous person. I was told that due to these issue and upon how I booked I would receive a discount of atleast 20% for my entire experience. I later spoke to the manager who told me there was nothing she could do and not only would I not get the 10% off booking for how I booked but I would not get the additional 10% off for the stench of the car. Save yourself the trouble and spend the little extra and go with a more reputable company like enterprise. Lesson learned.

The worst rental company I have ever used in my entire life. The attendant when I went to rent the car was from another department, she didn't know the procedures, causing the service time to extend to more than 45 minutes. The car was without the validity stamp on the license plate. I did not receive any response when I inquired about the loss I suffered as a result of the stamp being expired. I do not recommend this rental company. I will never enter this supposed car rental company again.

Update from experience below:Filed a claim with my credit card company and within a couple days received a credit back on the original charge. Not sure if that was reason for them agreeing to the promised refund or not.The staff promised a refund, "just call this number". The number you call, nobody answers on 5 attempts, just says they "experiencing.... ". All the people they swindle, I can imagine they don't want to talk to anybody. Emailed them a week ago and no response. They double charged me and having no luck getting my original payment back.Shady practices and they are offsite from the airport. Their shuttle took 40 minutes to arrive. NuCar scam is they say they don’t have your prepaid reservation anymore and you have to redo the reservation. The guy at the desk will not refund your old reservation, they tell you to call a their reservation line to get your original charge back. Nobody answers the reservation line. The new reservation was twice the old one, even though they promised it would be the same as old. They snuck in an upgrade charge.Then they lectured on why you’re wrong, and they are just a small company and can't be held to the same standard as other car rental companies. They seem to go through this racket quite a bit based on the comments and my experience being in their office where people are lined up complaining

Bad customer service and scammed into buying insurance I didn’t need BEWARE! Insurance added $200 for a week. And the employees are rude and have zero customer service and they rented me a wrecked car. BAD BAD BAD#Americanexpresstravel recommended and I’ll be passing this review on to them. Watch out because you can’t turn your car in before 8am.
