Ocean Beach Hotel is a quaint, family-operated hotel right across the street from the beach and on the main street, offering an unbeatable location. The rooms are small, updated, sufficient, and very clean, perfect for sleeping and recharging. While slightly dated, the hotel is charming and well-appointed, featuring a cool courtyard in the middle and murals on the outside. Some rooms offer a great view of the ocean. The vibe is laid-back and dog-loving, with a large grassy area and dog beach within a short walk. The area is very dog-friendly, with restaurants even offering dog menus. The hotel provides easy, convenient, and secure parking, a premium for a beach town. The enclosed atrium with card scan door access adds to the safety. A small shop in the office offers a good selection of beer, wine, snacks, refreshments, and souvenirs. The location provides perfect walkability to everything: the beach, pier, restaurants, shopping, bars with ocean views, coffee, and even Target, making a car unnecessary. It is a great vacation spot surrounded by great places to eat and activities like people-watching and surfing festivals. Note that rooms lack microwaves or freezer sections, and due to pier instabilities, there are no longer fireworks on the 4th of July. Young folk dominate during the summer, and noise from the vibrant area can roll into the early morning, so ear protection is recommended for light sleepers. Service is consistently pleasant, kind, and efficient. Many guests state they would stay here again and recommend it to couples and families for a fun place to stay.

Perfectly fine experience. Right by the beach which meant you could see and hear everything OB right outside your window. Dog friendly which is why we chose this spot.

I love this place so much I need ocean beach to come out and tell me why there was a man who was yelling all morning about kids being selled there and I really wanted to stay there for a few days... but it was great
