Hours: Porchlight Community Services is a dual program organization built by volunteers with a common goal. It works to recapture fresh, less-than-perfect, and near-expired food from reaching landfills. The service offers a Client Choice Food Market to help working individuals and families in San Diego, providing food for special diets like gluten-free, dairy-free, and plant-based items. It is a wonderful local pantry that does amazing work supporting those experiencing food insecurity. The program coordinator and volunteers are friendly, kind, welcoming, and wonderful. The location is clean and organized, with a selection of gourmet items. This demonstration of concentrated goodwill with a lot of action is all-inspiring. The organization builds the community by working as a community.
