“I adopted my lovely beautiful cat Kiki with Kanes K9s, and the process was wonderful! I filled out an application for Kiki, and from the thoroughness of the application I could tell instantly that they really care about taking good care of their pets. They shared Kiki's rescue story with me, and it was so sweet. Kiki was rescued from Hawaii, and with the help of American Airlines nonprofit assistance in helping pets have the promise of finding homes, they flew Kiki to San Diego to be adopted. I thought about giving her the name Moana, and I tell her that's she's my island kitty. I was so happy to learn about the rescue, it's so great that there are people out here like angels helping these loving animals find good homes. Kiki is doing great, and my little baby is very loved. Kiki and Kanes K9's have changed my life! 🐈 ❤
If you're still deciding whether or not to adopt a pet, just know that it is a wonderful thing. You will have so much love in your life, and a loving pet that's so excited to see you when you get home. When things get hard, and life is challenging, my cat Kiki makes me feel so much better. I definitely recommend adopting a pet!

“The church itself is truly wonderful. I’ve been part of this community my entire life, and it’s always felt like home. I may be a little biased, but the people here are kind, welcoming, and come from many different cultural backgrounds. Holy Family offers English Mass at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, and Spanish Mass at 12:00 PM. Occasionally, a bishop leads the service, which is always a special experience. Father Peter is a warm and caring priest who, along with the rest of the community, makes everyone feel valued and included. I hope anyone who visits feels the same sense of belonging and peace that I’ve experienced over the years.”

“Words cannot express how grateful I am for this foundation. My dog was recently diagnosed with pyometra, a life-threatening condition that requires emergency surgery. I was desperate to save her, but the cost was simply more than we could afford.
When the vet told me about this grant, I’ll admit I was skeptical at first because of all the scams out there. However, I was willing to try anything. We filled out the application and, incredibly, we were approved that same day.
I am so thankful I took that leap. This foundation didn’t just save my best friend; it restored my faith that there are still people who truly care about helping others. A special shout-out to Karen Kelly, who worked so hard on processing our application and communicating with us on what we needed. She even stayed a bit after hours to ensure everything was processed so the surgery could begin that evening. My baby is home now and recovering. Thank you for being a blessing to our family!”
“I used to live in the apartment complex directly next to Home Start. The first time I noticed this store was Halloween 2018, a few hrs. before a last minute puppy Halloween party.
Not only did I find the CUTEST mermaid costume I’ve ever seen… but it was a complete set & not just random pieces of clothing someone decided to donate last minute vs. throw away.
Amongst that I found a gigantic stack of my favorite designer jeans— not only in my size, but in a plethora of styles (not just straight leg)…. Oh, & I usually pay about $200 retail for these jeans but every single pair i purchased that day & so on, we’re $4.
The women working here are so amazing & they really care & look out for their clients best interests.

“Love the place. They offer ice skating lessons for both kids and adults. After our first visit, I signed my son up for a class, 12 lessons and 12 guest passes for $288. I have recommended the class to several friends. They all signed up immediately. My son and I very much look forward to more skating fun.”

“The fleet science center was so much fun for all of us. There are two floors filled with brain teasers, and educational fun that kept our 8 year old interested in exploring. His favorite part was the oversized ball pit of course. We enjoyed watching him run from section to section excited about what he read or attempted to do. We spent approximately 1.5 to 2 hours within the facility before we were ready to eat and exit. As we headed to the exit we saw many people lined up for the IMAC theater something we are planning to check out next time. We purchased slushies and popcorn, and paid $5 to experience the wind tunnel, before exiting to watch the waterfall right next to the History museum. It was a beautiful day and money well spent.”

“This place is so cool!! It houses ill and injured soldiers who are being released from active duty due to various circumstances. Each warrior gets a cottage to call home.
They are given the ability to get enrolled in college or a tradeschool,to play wheelchair basketball as well as hunt and fish. they are close enough to Balboa Naval hosp so they can get to and from appointments, they are mentored and guided all along the way! What a great way to honor those who put themselves out there in harms way. This organization also takes no government funding. everything is donor funded as well as lots of fundraising. They have an amazing volunteer force that gives of their time and knowledge to achieve goals. They are getting ready to launch Freedom Station 3 in August of 2024. This is just incredible!!!”
