Eric helped me with my connection to the SDCCU MOBILE APP. If if wasn't for his extensive knowledge of how connections work. I'd still be confused... Thanks Eric!!!

I have been banking at sdccu for years. and have NEVER had a problem..... Until today!! I went into the poway location , i was wearing a baseball cap ( which I do often). Today I was approached and told to take off my hat!!!! I asked why, and was told it the policy that members do not wear hats or glasses inside. I politely say I have never been asked to do that ...... and I am not taking my hat off. MEANWHILE there was a couple in the credit union, SHE was completely covered except for her eyes!!!!!! NO ONE said anything to her about the fact you couldn't see her face. so if you wear a mask and no hat or glasses you are ok to come inside/? I will be closing my account

In January, 2024 I got a tax form from SDCCU indicating that they with held 183.99 tax because of an early withdrawal penalty on a CD that I have there. Because I had no recollection of any early withdrawal from any of the CD's I have , on Jan. 25, 2024 I contacted the call center by phone and spoke with Doreen and explained my problem. She said she would check on it and call me back in a couple of days. No return call was forthcoming, so on Feb. 5th I called back and spoke with Kerry (sp?) explained my problem again and was told that she would call back in an hour. Nothing from her, so today, Feb. 8th, I called again and spoke with Marilyn. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was placed on hold several times while my request was being processed (supposedly). Marilyn came back and told me that they had redeemed my supposed original call authorizing the withdrawal and the phone number came back to my phone number. I told her that I knew SDCCU recorded calls and asked to hear the recording that they had from my phone number, so I could ascertain if it was, in fact, my voice. I was told that my request was not possible and was again told that the phone number they had was mine. At this point it was apparent that I was flogging a dead horse, so I just gave up. I want to note here that I've been with SDCCU for over 50 years and have never had this lousy service before. Apparently I'm not alone here. Other websites have listings from SDCCU members listing poor service, as well. At this point I'm seriously considering moving all my business from SDCCU to another credit union.

Worst experience ever. I’ve had bad luck the last 3 months my car got stole and I had to order a new card. Then recently in late November I lost my wallet. I froze my card and ordered and new via the phone. It’s been over a month and I have yet received my card. I went in today and Karen helped me. I wanted to know the ETA on the card or what was the delay. My car was stolen in October that card too around 2 and a half weeks to come in. Karen informed me that my card was not order yet. It was frozen but no order was placed. She said the delay was that they needed to verify my address. If I had a card ordered in October to my address already what is there to verify? I have not received one call or email about them needing to verify my order. It’s absolutely unacceptable I asked if she could print out a card so I can use one in the meantime since rent is due and at this point I’ve been waiting over a month. She told me they can’t at this location. I then asked if there’s another location in San Diego that can she said yes. Went to the back then said she actually doesn’t think there is but she could expedite it for $50. Since I can’t live much longer doing apply pay I paid the $50. Im deeply disappointed and disgusted as I have been waiting patiently for so long the customer service was bad I felt like she didn’t care at all.

While I love SDCCU, my local atm in the Clairemont Square just disappeared. I'm there every month to deposit rent money and poof it's gone this month. I then went to the next closest atm on Clairemont mesa only to find it wouldn't allow a deposit. The bank reps themselves have always been kind but where was the sign saying the ATM was going to disappear ?

SDCCU leaves a LOT to be desired. Wait times on a call can be very long with looped yammering promotional advertising an added bonus for your extended hold. And fraud on a debit or credit card? They do get props for catching a recent fraudulent charge on my card. But they aren't set up to quickly replace your card which is a huge problem when the card is the core of your many automatic business payments. I have a personal account at another local credit union where they can print you a new debit card in just a few minutes. But SDCCU wants 2-3 weeks to send you a new card. Unless of course you would prefer the $50 expediting fee in which case it's still going to be days rather than minutes at a branch. Totally unacceptable.

Incredibly rude and inconsiderate staff members. I had an appointment to establish a new business account and discuss financial products. I am currently dealing an auto immune condition that has left me with bruising around my body, scarring, hair loss and open wounds on my scalp. I wore a sweater, jeans and a small hat to protect myself and help hide the areas I am extremely self conscious about. As soon as I came in I was treated rudely and the security Guard and manager told me I need to remove my hat or leave. I explained to them my illness; I SHOWED them some of my bruising on my neck and scarring and bandages on my upper forehead where I use a hat to cover that and they had absolutely no understanding or consideration for that. They treated me as if I was going to rob the bank and are incredibly disrespectful to people going through medical issues which I proved. Ended up cancelling the appointment and will not be coming back.

DO NOT USE SDCCU FOR INTERNATIONAL WIRE TRANSFERS! I've had SDCCU checking and savings accounts for almost twenty years. I've also had local Bank of America accounts for about twenty-seven years. Boy did I get a rude awakening when I tried wiring money to Canada through SDCCU. I first tried through SDCCU because I had more money parked in their accounts. When I got to the local SDCCU branch I was informed they couldn't provide a currency exchange rate; it's their 'policy'. I really thought that was something all banks can provide. (And most do, in fact the receiving bank in Canada said they'd never heard of any bank not supplying an exchange rate for international wire transfer before.) SDCCU charged $65 for the transfer (almost half was for regular wire service and the remainder for it being international). Well, I had to look up the exchange rate online and it ended up being slightly wrong. Now I was looking at ANOTHER $65 FEE to wire the difference. But there was no way I was going to risk the amount being inaccurate a second time so I went to Bank of America who told me if I specify the amount for the international wire transfer in the foreign country's currency there is NO FEE! Zero! Zilcho! Totally free! So that's what I did, and it was indeed free (for me as an account holder). I could have saved myself the frustration of paying $65 and having to make more than one trip to the bank(s) for the international wire transfer(s) if I had just used Bank of America to begin with.

Nightmare of a bank, slowest tellers that make mistakes for just a simple check deposit. Rude receptionist and a stuck up manager. Sdccu runs your credit for just opening a checking account and they force you to have a savings account and they put everything on hold. They let anyone work Here with tattoos visible and Unprofessional.I wouldn’t want my banking handled by them. Go to other banks where they don’t run credit for checking accounts and have you take off your hat, glasses and underwear due to their made up “policy” insanity!

Worst banking experience from the moment I walked in I was harassed by the security guard and the older rude receptionist to remove my hat. Tellers work at a snail pace, specifically the dude with long hair first window chatters a lot of nonsense holding up a line of people who actually need to do banking! Do banking and leave! The manager did not want to speak with me when I asked the rude receptionist to speak with the manager, she told me I needed an appointment and took 20 min to look at the calendar. Disgusted how they let anyone run a branch. Closed my account with this bank and will never bank or recommend sdccu to anyone.

I have had a savings here for a long time, however I need a new checking account so a tenant could deposit their rent payments. I was to busy at work to go to the credit union, so I started the process on-line and I received a call from Merna. What a nice lady and very informative. We finished the process over the telephone and I'm very pleased with the level of service Merna nd SDCCU provide me.

If I could, I would put zero stars. They have the worst customer service. When speaking to them, they would interrupt you. They make it very difficult to make payments and I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Now I understand why they only have 1.8 stars on their Yelp listing.

I'm giving them one star but if I could it would be zero. My husband and I have financed plenty of cars. We have excellent credit and could have gotten an auto loan anywhere but the dealership we recently purchased a car from offered us a good interest rate with San Diego County Credit Union. Our 1st payment was recently due it it has been the hardest most inconvenient payment we have ever done. Terrible customer service places you on hold for over half an hour and makes the whole process just a nightmare. The account is under my husband's name he gave authorization for me to make the payment and that turned in to them freezing our online options because of fraud!!!. Completely ridiculous. We will be refinancing our loan somewhere else. A complete disappointment!
