The Studio Door is Hillcrest's premier art gallery and unique art center, located minutes from downtown San Diego and Balboa Park. It features a tremendous eclectic array of contemporary art, paintings, and sculptures, with monthly rotating exhibits and working artist studios where creative processes can be viewed. The space is known for its support of local LGBTQIA+ art and artists, community events, live music, and Mural Alley. It is a great destination for locals, tourists, and art lovers, offering a warm reception and super fun art in a swanky gallery with a museum store gift shop.
Patrick Stillman, the owner of this gallery and studio space was very generous with time,descriptions, info. Visitors can see the work of a variety of talented artists in the individual spaces. Shows are engaging and not afraid of edgy.
