Walter Andersen Nursery is a favorite in San Diego, considered a backyard gardener's paradise. It features an incredible and great variety of plants, including fruit trees and items for veggie gardens. The plants are in good healthy condition. The staff are wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and accommodating. Experts and many people give out helpful advice all day long. The nursery offers free Saturday morning classes. Prices are decent, competitive, and very reasonable. The facility is very clean. Customers enjoy strolling around to check out all the new stuff and find items they never come looking for. Many travel far to visit and will definitely be returning for most gardening supplies.

It probably costs 15% more than a big box store, but what you get is a wider variety and people specifically dedicated to answer your questions. We wanted a tree for our backyard and were able to figure out the exact species that would work well for our space.
