“We visited recently to look into purchasing our first fruit tree. Chris, who was super nice, helped us through the whole process and showed us many different options based on what we were looking for. He was very patient and informative, we never felt rushed or brushed off. He walked us through the nursery and gave a lot of great advise and info on how to care for our new additions.
We are looking forward to coming back for our next new addition. This is a great nursery to come and visit. Very clean parking is easy, others were also very laid back and kind.

“Giovanni did it again! I called and spoke with Giovanni today and I was looking to replace my annuals. I asked what he would recommend to replace my impatiens, and he suggested mums, pansies, and vincas for fall. My favorite is impatiens, so I asked if he had any in stock and colors available. He said red, white, orange and a mixture of different colors. I requested him to save the red and white in full flats for me so I could swing by before they close. He said no problem. Upon arrival at the store I asked Giovanni, and to my surprised the red and white impatiens were already on the cart ready to go. I ended buying both colors in full flats and organic top soil as well. He also helped me load the stuff onto my vehicle. I mentioned to him that I would need to replace my fountain soon and he said that they would be on sale late spring and that he would let me know. Another great customer service ? ? from the same guy who helped me when I had a problem with my trumpeter rose tree. Giovanni is such a pleasure to work with coupled with great can-do attitude and professionalism. A great asset to Armstrong Garden Center in Penasquitos. Thank you very much for all that you do, Giovanni. I truly appreciate you! You are the best ?!”

“In April 2026 I bought a sweet lime, a white Pakistan mulberry, in May I came here again and bought a Walnut tree. Now they are all growing well in my garden. I have visited and purchased trees from several nurseries in San Diego County. I got to say: this one is the best! better trees, better price and better service. For each tree purchased, they put the whole pot in a large black plastic bag and make a tie around the top of the pot, so that not a single dirt fell out to my car's floor. If the tree already has fruit on it, they wrap the whole tree with plastic film to protect the fruit. Father and wife or son work together to load the tree into my car and make sure every thing is safe. That's the highest level of service I don't get from other nurseries. “This nursery is really cute. There are a few chickens that wander around the property, they'll leave you alone but if they're one of your fears, keep that in mind. Parking is only available on the street. That is kind of a bummer. They do have a good variety of plants, and that's adorable. Theyre one of the oldest nurseries in San Diego so bonus points for that. Theyre also a small business. The people are knowledgable and theres a park right across the street too. All in all, I will be back. Thanks!”
“First time here and I am positive that it would not be my last time. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Blaze. We asked to look at the trees, and within seconds Buddy came to pick us up in a golf cart. Buddy was patient and very knowledgeable. We knew NOTHING about plants, and he made it very easy for us to make a decision on which tree to get. There was a variety of trees to choose from. We went there with the intention to get one, but we ended up buying FIVE trees! The sale was great, and the more you buy, the more discount you get! I mean how could we resist?! The trees are all well maintained. It was phenomenal. Then we picked up some house plants with Blaze before we left. It was such a great deal. Got my dream fiddle fig plant for my living room for only $50. It would have cost me $80-100 at other local nurseries! I can't wait to come back and get more plants! Thank you Buddy and Blaze!”

I had a handful of questions about winter gardening and Holiday decorations and Chrissy was able to spend some quality time with me talking me through options on what has worked for her/them. All the employees there are very knowledgeable and really seem to care.
Love supporting a local business especially when it's deserved. I've only received unmatched customer service and their selection is great. Not to mention I always see them creating beautiful custom arrangements.

“As an individual person (not some big landscaper) I just discovered and LOVE this place. Where can you get just 1 bag of sand/lava rock/pebbles? Here! And at half the price of garden centers. This truly was an amazing find. People are helpful and friendly and even loaded stuff into my car for me all 3x I went. If you need stone or sand and an individual buyer, I STRONGLY recommend trying these people. I'll be returning.”

Jerry was super helpful during our initial consultation and was available for my random questions during our DIY demo so we were ready for our install. The office staff was very friendly and prompt with scheduling and sending us reminders. Daniel was great at our measuring appt and answered all our questions. Eric and Guillermo did a great job on the installation yesterday, everything looks amazing! Now we are ready to DIY our backsplash :) thanks everyone!”

I went to purchase a specific vacuum cleaner and after being told where to find them I was unable to find the one I wanted. I attempted to leave the store and go to another location and John Zeglin stopped me and requested to help me further. After researching on his computer he found that the store actually had 4 in stock. John then went above and beyond to locate the stock items that where almost hidden and then found the item I wanted, he then found the tallest ladder in the stairs and retrieved it for me. I’m truly great til for his customers service skills and going all in to help me. He saved me half a day of searching and time. Now I can enjoyed the rest of my day. Thanks John Zeglin for this.”
“I was able to rent a snake to undo a shower drainage block. The Home Depot Rental Center on Genesee had a variety of plumber's snakes, which was somewhat fascinating to observe and look at. The staff was very friendly and courteous. This is a great community resource, a bit like the tool rental library when I lived in Berkeley (but funded by individuals rather than the public).”
