“Before working with ADA, I went into the process of buying an engagement ring worried about the uncertainties that can come with buying a diamond online. Would the stone be good quality? Would the setting? How would I know that the stone I chose wouldn't have imperfections not considered in the grading process? When doing research about the process on reddit, I came upon a post by one of the founders (?) listing some of the things Ada Diamonds considers during their quality control check of prospective diamonds and I decided to work with them. I worked remotely with Jessi R of their SF location and the process was an absolute joy. There was clarity and transparency at every step and I felt confident that I was getting an engagement ring that was everything my partner wanted. For the level of customization in the process, the timeline moved smoothly, and there were various checkpoints where you could see what the ring would look like. Although I don't anticipate needing it, the complimentary resizing assuaged the nervousness of buying online. I would and will recommend Ada Diamonds wholeheartedly to anyone looking to purchase a lab grown diamond engagement ring, friends and family included.”

“I had the best experience working with Mary at Bridal Breeze! I went into the store not sure if what I was looking for even existed, and I found one that was perfect (plus several others that were also beautiful, just not exactly what I wanted). I think the store has fewer dresses that some of the other stores I went to, but they were all perfectly curated, so I was trying on one beautiful dress after another! They also post their entire inventory online, which was really useful for me beforehand, as I was trying to decide whether it was worth the drive from the south bay all the way up to the city. It definitely definitely was! They do not do alterations, but they have a few tailors who they recommend. I've heard horror stories about other shops ordering dresses multiple sizes too big so they can gouge you on alterations, so I'm happy to have avoided that conflict of interest. My dress pretty much fits, just needs some minor adjustments. Do note that the store is very small, so they can only handle one bride at a time. Definitely make an appointment before you go.”

A long review coming up...I stumbled upon Nancy at Lace and Liberty by some miraculous stroke of luck after trying dresses I hated elsewhere (I lived just up the road but hadn't thought I could ever have a dress from here). With Nancy's expertise, I crafted the most special dress for my big day. I can't thank her enough!I live 5,000 miles away from my best gals and my mum (my entire bridal party is overseas & on a different timezone), so when it came time to shop for my dress, I wanted honest feedback, not just sweet compliments from new friends. All my new friends were telling me I looked great in everything (which was nice of them), but most of the dresses just did not feel like me. I plan to wear it for a solid 12 hours and hide an old tattoo so I will alter it a tiny bit, but it's SO perfectly fitting otherwise (honestly, I cannot explain how well it fits). “I purchased my wedding dress from Sarah Seven in Chicago. When it came time to clean the dress, Sarah Seven recommended using Elegance Preserved. I was concerned because their operations were not local, but they made the process SO easy! Not only were they excellent at communicating and diligently tracking my wedding dress as it was shipped (even sending me tracking updates), they also were very clear in their communication of cost and services. I had a lot of dirt on the bottom of the dress and spray tan stains (especially around the armpits), and the dress came back in excellent condition. I cannot recommend Elegance Preserved enough!!”

“I had been a fan of Dark Garden for years! A friend of mine passed down a used underbust she purchased from their store ages ago, and I had a good time wearing it to an event. I've always wanted to visit the store in person, and finally had my chance when I went to their store to visit their business neighbor, Revelation In Fit. The ladies in Dark Garden were really nice and directed me to my appointment, and also invited me to check our their store afterwards if I had the time. Which I did, and I did.Kay and a new clerk (my apologies for not getting her name, but she was awesome and gorgeous, and I wish her all the best in her new position at the store!) helped me out in trying on their demo corsets. One overbust model and one underbust model. The fitting results from the models I tried (Eden and Valentine) were BEAUTIFUL! And Kay was knowledgeable and encouraging. I really appreciated her help!Since it was after another appointment, i wasn't prepared to go all-in on a corset at that time. However, I WILL make my way again to "Dark Garden" to fully partake in their beautiful delights. I'll want to get a corset (or two) to help bring some special drama to my wardrobe.Thank you so much for such a fun experience!”

When I wear it I am happily reminded that life is perfect in the imperfections when we are lucky enough to see them. I was able today to get one of her assemblage pieces from her Sisyphus series. I've been eyeing it for a while and am so happy I was able to get it. Meeting Deb and learning about her work was a delightful experience and added one more layer of patina on my appreciation of the piece.”

“I was glad that I found this place. I was 5 weeks away from the city hall day so I have a super tight timeline. I originally found the gown at another place that they really tried hard and pushed me to get it on the spot, which I didn't like the way they do business. So when I visited Novella and saw the same gown, I knew I am getting it here. With the tight timeline and I was also pregnant, they had Carol take a look of it right away the same day I triand see if ordering the gown and alteration will be doable with the timeline. I wasn't pressured to get the gown on the spot or asked to pay expedited shipping fee. I called them in the next few days to commit the order and got a quote for alteration, which I think it's a fair cost in the market. My body changed quite fast due to pregnancy and we had fitting multiple times just within the few weeks. Carol had to wait till close to the date to do the waist. At one point I couldn't zip the gown because my belly grew too much after a big lunch and Carol panicked a bit. We managed to get it work. She altered the last part two days before I picked up the gown to make sure the right fit. The gown turned out really nice, the waistline area was just so smooth that it rests just right over my belly smoothly. It didn't look like I was 6month present, not that it was intentionally to hide, just the transition was perfect.”

“Been coming here for about 5 years with my wife for custom qipao's. Many of the Ms Chinatown and Ms Qipao contestants come here for qipaos. Although old-school, they know their stuff and make a nice qipao. Both are from HK and you know that there are a lot of quality seamstress/tailors from there. I think that people born is Asia are more used to their service and way of doing things. Think of how your parents/grandparents might run a shop. Maybe the gentleman is having some memory issue now, so go easy on him. He means well. My wife is a super stickler on fashion and that things have to be just-so and I never heard her complain about the store, staff or dresses. We enjoy coming to visit. Highly suggested for custom qipao.”
