Wow!! We travel often and try our best to pick luxurious hotels at a family-friendly rate. This place was AMAZING!! Wish we would remember every staff member’s names that helped us but Emmanuel did stand out at check in. He was kind, helpful and quick! Gave us an extremely helpful recommendation to get a last minute reservation at the Tonga restaurant inside (MUST DO WITH KIDS) and we got in on a Saturday night. Our only disappointment was the valet parking and rates. On top of generous tips we were surprised to find that nearby parking was available at less than half the rate. Also the valet people were not very patient with our children. I’ve reached out to the valet manager, Sal, to see if they can work with us on these charges. Don’t park at the hotel!

The staff are extremely friendly and amazing. All the little shops and restaurants are niche and very cool.I’ve tried most of the things on their menu, and the breakfast food is both expensive and not tasty. The potatoes are weird. The panna cotta is more yogurt than anything. But the amenities, such as the spa, are pretty nice. I wish the fitness center was free for hotel guests. The rooms are fine, though the bathtub is too small. This hotel does not have a pool to swim in.Edit: Fairmont replied to me… who is Ali Azad?

One of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed in. We spent four nights here and were fortunate enough to enjoy their buffet breakfast, which was outstanding ( it was only available during holidays). The hotel's location was convenient for everywhere we needed to go. Parking right in front of the hotel is available at a much cheaper rate (no need to navigate hills, just across the park). The cleaning crew, concierge, and our check-in and check-out experiences were all exceptional. Don't forget to explore the entire hotel; their rooftop is stunning. Also, be sure to book their restaurant in advance. We will definitely return when we visit San Francisco again.

Building is impressive.Especially the lobby.Rooms are okay. But not really up to date.Queen beds in the States are barely 150cm. Too small for 2.Shower did not work. Water insufficiently hot.Breakfast outrageously expensive, like everything in SF. For that money, fresh orange juice should be available instead of from an XL can.Absolutely no friendly service. $150 for 4, for some scrambled eggs and toast, outrageous.Reception lady was very okay.

Rooms are quite small but the location is clean and safe. The main building is obviously aged a bit. It could be bad for some but it has its own charm for others.

Our favorite hotel in San Francisco. We have stayed all over the city for years but the fairmont is our favorite because it ticks all the right boxes for us. Great room with an amazing view, walkability to shops and restaurants, impeccable service and staff, grounds with history and character, the list goes on. They get everything right in a city with a lot of good competition.

The Fairmont San Francisco definitely deserves 5 out of 5 stars in my rating. Even as a child, I had the pleasure of being a guest in this magnificent hotel, and the impressions from that time left a deep impression on me. The hotel's majestic architecture and elegant furnishings immediately transport every visitor to a world of luxury and history. Located at the top of Nob Hill, the Fairmont San Francisco not only offers impressive city and bay views, but also an excellent base from which to explore San Francisco's fascinating attractions. The hotel's rooms and suites are spacious, tastefully furnished and offer all the comforts you would expect from a hotel of this category.Over the years, the high level of service and hospitality at Fairmont San Francisco has remained consistent. The staff is professional, attentive and always strives to ensure every guest has an unforgettable experience. The hotel's dining options, from the legendary Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar to the elegant Laurel Court Restaurant, offer culinary experiences that further enrich your stay. The Fairmont San Francisco is not just a hotel, but a symbol of the city, combining tradition and modern amenities in a unique way. It is this balance that made my stay as a child unforgettable and that still makes me want to return today.
