Space 550 is a beautiful place for salsa and bachata dancing, featuring multiple rooms or dance floors for different styles and skill levels. The venue offers free beginner salsa lessons, typically around 8:00 or 9:00 p.m., which attract a huge crowd. The atmosphere is welcoming, with great music from fantastic DJs and sometimes a live band. The dance floors are spacious and beautiful, though they can get very crowded earlier in the night; after 11:00 p.m. or midnight, there is more room as beginners leave and advanced dancers arrive. There is a cover charge, which is cheaper online than at the door. The venue serves reasonably priced drinks and has an outside area. Parking is available on the street. However, the venue does not allow outside water bottles and does not have a drinking fountain, offering bottled and tap water for purchase instead. While one reviewer noted the neighborhood isn't safe, another found the area safer than downtown San Francisco. Overall, it is a highly recommended spot for dancers of all levels to enjoy a friendly, energetic, and refreshing experience.
Went to dance bachata, the place is very nice, the room for bachata was a bit small compared to the salsa room but was ok. The dancing was fun and people were very nice.

I go there for Latin dancing and i love it. Bachata gets only the small room but they have recently upgraded it with more seating space and better lights, so it is great.

Awesome place to dance. There is plenty of room, big fans for temperature control. Fridays are good for salsa. And Saturdays have monthly bacahata socials that are really fun.
