I had a pretty easy time renewing my license without an appointment. I did the forms and DMV refresher online. I waited 20 minutes after arriving, and was quickly processed through 3 desks for paperwork and a new photo. I saw a lot of people, including myself, struggle to hear the quiet voices of quite a few employees.
