Missing Sock Laundry is a clean, well-maintained, and spacious laundromat with comfortable seating. It is a cozy place to work while waiting. The business has two locations, established in 1994 with a Russian Hill facility and a second in the Marina. The machines are awesome, getting clothes very clean and drying them quickly. It offers large 40-pound washers for big items like bedding and rugs, alongside smaller washers. The dryers are pretty big. There are plenty of machines, so waiting is rare, though some machines occasionally go out of service for long periods. It uses a card system for payment. The initial card purchase and process to load funds can be annoying and is not always made clear, but the deposit is fully refundable. Prices are reasonable. While generally clean and well-maintained, some recent feedback notes a decline in cleanliness and more machines out of order. Security responds quickly if contacted about loitering. It is a great spot for early laundry, opening at 5:00 AM.
There is no laundry powder in the dispenser and thankfully a nice bloke doing his laundry gave me some. There was a homeless guy sleeping in here going off his face so some security would be nice to have.

Almost half the washer machines are out of service and it’s been months.

I give it a 4 because you have to bring the detergent for the washing machine and fabric softener.
