“Stop researching strollers and car seats on the internet. Just come ask Mika - she's so so so helpful! She even walked to our car with us to figure out which car seat fit better.”

“Come here for a quick gift to bring a fancy hipster toy to your next young kids birthday party. Expect to pay high prices, but in return, you get fancy packaging that feels good in your hands, as you marvel at the extra 5 minute effort the clerk spends to wrap your gift and stamp it with custom letters with the name of the recipient. The store is a joy for parents, but honestly like any fancy boutique you get concerned bringing your little ones in tow. This is a high brow gift shop, not Toys R Us.”

“One of the nicest places in the city! They moved ailes in a different direction, and there are a lot more supplies and items to buy. It is also a great store to get greeting cards and toys and cleaners. Great for families!”

“My first time here. They have a great selection. I do think the mega evolution 6 pack booster for over 70 bucks was a bit scalpy but it is what it is. I ended up pulling a mega Gardevoir ex which made things better haha”

“I recently purchased a book from Dolttie Dolittle, and I just have to say how impressed I am with both the product and the customer service. The book arrived beautifully packaged and in perfect condition, showing real care and attention to detail.

A special thank-you to Janeli, who went above and beyond to make sure my order was handled smoothly. She was friendly, professional, and quick to respond to my questions — it’s so rare to find such kind and attentive service these days. You can really tell that customer satisfaction matters to this company.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience shopping with Dolttie Dolittle. I wouldn’t hesitate to order again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for great products and outstanding service. Thank you again, Janeli, for making the experience so pleasant!”

“The proprietor is an absolute gem! We popped in impulsively and wound up with a great conversation, tons of fascinating toy + pop culture history trivia, AND a couple truly wonderful gifts for family. Thank you for the Star Wars action figures and Alfa Romeo collectible!”

“I was looking for swimwear and a sweater (both from Tea Collection) which were sold out on the company's website. After a google search for the items, I found Fiddlesticks! They have a nice selection of children's clothing as well as plush toys (I ended up buying a few more adorable plush toys from Jellycat). When I received the package today, all items were individually wrapped and there was a sweet note from the owner. Had a lovely experience shopping online. Highly recommended this store.”

“Ying Hobbies & Toys it's the hidden gem you never knew you needed! My wife stumbled upon this treasure while on a quest for Gunpla goodness, and boy, am I glad she did. Tucked away in a cozy spot, Ying Hobbies & Toys might play hard to get at first, but once you lay eyes on its bounty of plastic wonders, you'll be hooked. The store might be small, but it's bursting at the seams with an array of model kits that'll make any Gundam fan's heart skip a beat. Seriously, choosing just one model feels like trying to pick a favorite child - impossible and bound to hurt someone's feelings. But fear not, the guy running the place is pretty helpful. With his guidance, navigating through the sea of model kits becomes a breeze! Oh and the pricing is super fair specially for all the cool stuff you can find. So, if you're a Gundam enthusiast or just someone who appreciates the art of model kits, do yourself a favor and pay Ying Hobbies & Toys a visit. Trust me, it'll quickly become your go-to spot for all things Gunpla. Happy building, fellow plastic yelp warriors!”

“A very small store for the serious anime- Japanese manga type figurines/ models and other collectables and some lower cost stuff for kids/ collectors on a budget. It's one of the few I know in the general bayarea that specializes in the trade and one the few that offer some of the original Japanese heroes collectable stuffing around SF”

“You can find a bunch of great figurines, board games, etc. They have a variety of brands like Bandai, Good Smile Company, etc. Yup, nendoroids! The best shop in Japantown for figurines and authentic.”

“The Exploratorium Store is the place to get all kinds of generic science-related gifts. Mainly stuff for kids, and some of their inventory you can likely find elsewhere online. A lot of the products are only vaguely related to the Exploratorium and what is displayed in it, there wasn't much Exploratorium branded merch or memorabilia outside of a few shirts and buttons. Would love to see more, honestly. The prices can be high, I remember seeing a pin that was not much bigger than a thumbtack going for $13, but it's an expensive museum so it makes sense that their gift shop is also expensive. Other than that, it's fine quality. My little brother really liked the knee-doh ball he got here. Overall, 4/5.”

“This is an awesome store! So many cool toys, stickers, stamps, miniatures, etc.!
Also, an impressive inventory of arts and craft items.
Shop-keeper is very kind and generous; helping me out with my Halloween costume and keeping an eye out for bat themed items.
It is a joy to be able to support a wonderful small business ( over Amazon).
I highly recommend!”

“For this holiday season, the cute toys and trinkets at PopMart are the "IT" gift for 2025. Adults, children and entire families squash themselves into this small store. There is a line to get in most days starting along Powell Street...but if you happen to show up when there isn't one, go inside and browse the selection. The mezzanine has a life-sized character for photo ops/selfies. The staff are very patient about answering questions (tip for adults: ask for gift advice if needed). Small items can be good value. Pop Mart appeal: most characters are " secret " in their boxes, so you don't know what color of character you'll end of getting. The mystery is just like gambling and a bit addictive. Best of luck on your choice!”

“Such a cute store for trinkets!! the staff are also so awesome and helpful. The decor is super cute as well! My favorite store on haight by far???

P.S. besides what’s pictured, we’ve also gotten decently priced Pokemon packs with some decent pulls ??”

“Small frys is the best children clothing/shoe store in San Francisco! Whenever I am in the area for lunch or a walk, I always stop by here to get something for my daughter and son. It's also a great place to get a gift for a special little one! There's always a decent sized sales rack at the entrance. What makes this store truly amazing is the owner. My family from Ukraine recently fled the war and arrived in San Francisco. The owner reached out to me and told me she has a care package at her store waiting for my almost 6 year old nephew. I had tears when reading how generous of a person she was. Not only did she give him incredible See Kai Run shoes, but she also have super stylish pants, shirts and PJs. My family and I are forever grateful for her kindness and generosity. Thank you, thank you. Support small businesses like Small Frys!”

“It's definitely a very cutesy type of store that sells Japanese products like Sanrio merch and many kinds of plushies. When I walked in the staff were nice and greeted me although I went on a day where there weren't many people in Japantown. I'm not this store's target demographic honestly, but it's still a fun store to browse around in when I have the time.”

“The Pirate Supply Store is a little smaller than I remember, but I could be confusing it with another store. It is still jam-packed with pirate themed decor and souvenirs for sale. I don’t think there was an inch of that store that was empty. Many cheap and handmade trinkets and accessories to take home, but I think I saw some clothing too? Plus some customizable things like a mini treasure chest that you can fill with whatever you’d like. Overall, 4/5.”

“We had a great experience here with Alex. He found the games I was looking for on the phone. He followed through and had the games ready for me when I arrived at the store and was very friendly and professional. Alex went above and beyond to make sure we got what we needed. Great job Alex!?? Top marks.”

“I actually really like this shop in Japan Town. They actually have some of the best blind boxes for toys that I've ever seen. They story is on the larger side which is great, but it can get busy on a weekend so get ready to play bumper shoulders with a bunch of random folks. Still staff is pretty friendly. If you like Japanese cute toys, then this is one of the better spots outside of Japan.”
