“Beautiful shop full of interesting antiques from Native American jewelry and baskets to Japanese tansu and textiles from around the world, priced very fairly. Great conversation to be had as well!”
“This place always has new stuff. James is one of the great people you will meet in this great region. His honesty prices are just one example to be satisfied with #crossjames”
“Jana Olson is great. Her workshop Is wonderful. As a lamp lover I was in awe If you have a lamp any age they can fix it. Prices are reasonable and appointments are easy to make. Me lamp repair person closed up shop so I was in a little bit of a quandary about someone to find that beautiful bargain I find to have repaired. Thank you. I even bought a lamp from her.”
“Went there with Alex to purchase two Penny Farthings for his San Jose bike shop. He bought a silver and black one. We loaded it in his beat up green rusty old van. It was a spilritual experience. Greg was humble, fair. Gave us a discount on the black because it was very slightly used and the silver one (I think was made of stainless steel). Alex enlisted me to help him because I had a little experience riding scrappy original Penny Farthings in the Antelope Valley in Lancaster Fair parades and in Rosamond at the Tropico Gold Mine Chili contests.”
“This place was dope. Right next to Venganza. I connected with the owner Getachew (sorry if I misspelled your name) who was very knowledgeable about his products located from all across Africa. A cool guy and I'll be back to check the store out again when I have more time and when I'm not waiting for an order.”
“I’ve always driven by but never stopped in since it was after hours. I got a chance to pop in today and I found so many treasures! The owner/buyer had a great eye for unusual and precious antiques. I picked up fantastic Christmas ornaments, a stunning smoky topaz ring, and vintage Japanese porcelain aquarium decor. The latter could be used in plant terrariums too. They kindly offered my dog a treat and made me feel welcome.”
“Delightful, well organized space with all manner of treasures. Proprietor was super nice, will definitely be back when I have more time, as there is an impressive amount of things to peruse.”
“Definitely one of the best antique store I have ever been! Staffs were really friendly! The space is beautiful! They have a LARGE amount of collections! Not only you can visit and shop there, you can also learn a lot as well! Definitely one of my favorite spot in Bay Area!”

“It's a beautiful store with so much selection. They have everything from books to clothes, furniture, unique household items and jewelry. I like that the staff was nice and didn't bother you and didn't mind us going through everything and just taking out time.”
“The owner is SUCH a nice man. The prices are reasonable, especially on a budget and/or in a hurry. Long-standing community business

“Insane curation of vintage furniture, art and decor located in Oakland. I frequented the shop back when it was next door and in a much smaller space. It’s now expanded to a beautiful and generous location (used to be a Bed Bath and Beyond). I went in today and loved their new space and layout.
Most curation falls under mid-century modern and Scandinavian design. Some 80s and 90s as well. Prices are on the mid to higher-end but fair, selection is similarly diverse. This place isn’t a quick-stop though, best enjoyed with time because there is just so much good stuff to look at. I purchased a set of vintage Japanese side tables that are probably my favorite pieces I own at the moment. Great music, too.”
“Artisan Place is an odd name for a "gift" store. Since it's has 10 owners who are artisans & 40 vendors showcasing here, the name is appropriate. Motto: housemade, vintage(antiques), confections.. Prices posted are from the vendors, artisans. Value is in the eye of the buyer. Offerings: greeting cards, artifacts, jewelry, candy, jams, clothing, artisan seasonal decor, face masks, gift boxes, ceramics, glassware, accessories....many pics posted by Owners of goods. Eats: "dark chocolate almond toffee chuck cookies" (2) -shelved with some knit xmas caps. -name attracted me. Curious about taste since toffee usually is a solid bar not a cookie -made in home kitchen. Very sweet. Sugar, butter, palm oil top 3 ingredient. Many others -doubtful repeat. Not healthy. Staying with regular toffe. 4.5 stars. aisles narrow. Items stacked tight. Everything labeled. Didn't touch anything. Lots of items would make great gifts.. *items displayed randomly. Some have placards naming vendor, artists. Some didn't have..”
“I've gotten a lot of great stuff from this flea market. There's tons of video games, collectibles, antiques, tools, junk and not to mention your every day convenience store things. There's also a great little section with produce. Takes about an hour to walk the whole thing if you keep a good pace but also take your time to look through some things. Some of the venders don't bend on prices but a lot of them will, so make sure to haggle a little! It's open every day of the week but I've found Tuesdays and Thursdays are the best days to go! Saturday and Sundays are fun but they tend to have a lot more newer msrp value things opposed to old used things. Definitely recommend this flea market for anyone in the bay area.”
“I have been buying expensive objects from Gus at AC Stickley for over 30 years. Day or night he will take my phone calls answering my unlimited questions. The pieces have always been exactly as described. Shipping has always been free and as close to white glove as possible. I can't recommend him enough.”
“This is easily the best restaurant I've been to in the East Bay, though it seems to be a little under the radar. Although it is a little pricier than what we normally look for on an average Saturday night, it's honestly well worth it. The food is perfect, with great creative and well-balanced cocktails to pair. The ambiance is funky, cute and cozy, and the service is excellent. We moved over from San Francisco 3.5 years ago, and we've generally been underwhelmed with the restaurant scene on this side of the bridge. In terms of ambiance, most places in the East Bay seem to either be very dated looking, or else they have an updated, hipster "cool" vibe, but are also cavernous and chilly. The Rendezvous is a notable exception to this. The space has a beautiful, eclectic, vintage feel AND I didn't have to be bundled up in my winter coat while enjoying my meal. This is the place to pick if you want to impress a date with your artsy and casual-yet-sophisticated taste. This is place to take your spouse when they are feeling down and you can splurge to cheer them up. This is the place to meet up with your favorite friends if you want to feel cozy and connected. This is the the place to celebrate your next birthday, anniversary or anything else that merits celebrating with great food in a special place. They also have an adorable outdoor space for warm evenings, daytime gatherings or for people who need to continue to avoid indoor dining. This isn't the barely-thought-about tables and chairs on a cement slab that so many restaurants have these days. Their patio is a lovingly decorated extension of the indoor restaurant. Though I haven't sat out there yet, I had the thought that it would be a perfect place to buy out for a private party. I really love it, and am already looking forward to my next visit.”
“Ellington and French is a neighborhood gem. It is the most delightful little gift shop, and it always smells wonderful the moment you walk through the door. My mother had received an email about their holiday champagne sip and shop sale, so of course we had to go! We were greeted with champagne and chocolate, and it looked like a winter wonderland inside. All of their merchandise is so cute, it was hard not to buy the entire store! We came away with some sweet gift and stocking stuffers for family and hearts full of holiday cheer! If you're ever in the market for a little birthday, holiday, house warming, or "just because" gift; or if you just need a joyful pick me up, stop by Ellington and French!”
“My sister and I were very pleased with the entire experience shopping Lynn's recent estate sale in Oakland. All the workers were very friendly and helpful. As the contents ranged from antique to new, it was clear that all items were priced appropriately. It was evident by their displays that they put a lot of care into arranging like items together. I will definitely be on the lookout for their future sales.”
“They used to have an architect firm here that barely attracted any flies inside, then this wonderful, eclectic cute antique shop took over. They invited the lady from Moss plants to sell their beautiful plants and the result is balanced gentle magic. Here you can find gifts for yourself or for a special occasion, or no reason at all. Walking in here was a nice fresh break for a Sunday, greeted graciously by Nan who let me wonder around the shop without policing me or being a typical pushy sales person, quiet the opposite. Her level of education and appreciation for art and antique recognized the good client in me and others who happened to walked inside, and that's a good sales person. In the meantime I had to share this with more folks. Perfect place to buy a nice, cozy, or an elegant last minute gift.”
