“I've now been reasonably consistent at this gym. I come to appreciate the facility more and more as I get to know the employees, equipment and general layout. I've also become more familiar with the members. This gym is Clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The employees are great. 99 percent of them have been very kind, helpful, and friendly. I feel that the management cares about keeping a high level of professionalism and it shows in the all star behavior of their staff. This is truly a five star gym. Don't hesitate to enroll if you aren't already. This gym is superior to all the others. They have a room with great glute equipment. ( Booty Builder machines) These are hard to find. I look forward to going there each time . I LOVE IT!! SUPER EMPLOYEES EVERYWHERE!!!!! THANKS CRUNCH! NOW I'M BUFFED!!”

“I had the absolute best experience at The Combine in Oakland! I was visiting the area for 3 weeks and felt instantly at home, they have a great community vibe! The gym itself is well equipped, the workouts were consistently challenging and well-structured. Coaches Ashley and Alex are incredible: tough but motivating, and always ready to offer adjustments to help you push yourself safely. The energy, the people, and the music (seriously, the music!) made every session something to look forward to. “I was grabbing a juice from Got Juiced and after chatting with the manager Tarrell found out he was the owner of Body Mechanix. After hearing about my struggle with back pain when lifting he offered to give me tips on my form and did an incredible stretch session that honestly left me feeling 2 inches taller! I got to meet the manager in Body Mechanix too and they were both so friendly and professional. Thanks for the kindness to someone who isn't even a member (yet) Tarrell. He's excited to share what he's learned, and craves the discipline and challenge. At tournaments, I remind him that we're there to learn. “Love this place. If your looking for a place to really work out, then this is your place. All the trainers are genuinely helpful to your specific goals. I was so much more comfortable working out here than at a big chain gym. The best part about the group classes is that they allow you to workout the right way & at your capability so you do not hurt yourself. Each class offered is intense but with slightly different instructor technique - will keep you coming back for more (and sore)! Lol Attended this gym for 6 months, unfortunately, due to work schedule and travel, could not continue. I do want to give special shoutout to the owner Marlon. “The class is a high-energy workout that combines cardio, strength, and technique into one session. Ceez and Ray have provided a safe space that builds endurance, improves coordination, and tones the entire body while also being a powerful stress reliever. The rest of the staff are highly motivational and give you the right amount of push to get you pumped and going! Their hours are pretty much flexible for that early start of the morning to that last minute workout to end the day. Coach Paola also helps create an incredible space where people want to keep showing up for themselves and for their goals. “I’ve been going to this studio for over a year and love the HIIT class with Carolyn. She has great energy and switches up the routines to keep the classes hard and engaging. Jaz is also a fantastic vinyasa instructor and love taking her classes.Only drawbacks of this studio is limited vinyasa classes after work hours and days offered. The latest vinyasa class is at 4 pm which often doesn’t work with my schedule. I also wish they had Tuesday and Thursday evening vinyasa classes!Owner is engaged and responsive.Edit 5/19Studio added evening vinyasa classes after hearing feedback from students! Very excited for expanded opportunities to take classes.”

“I’ve been going to CrossFit One World for about 14 months now, and it’s been a great experience. I first joined the Boot Camp program, and coaches JP and Moe really made a difference for me. I had no background in CrossFit or weightlifting and felt completely new to it all, but they explained the basics clearly, kept things motivating, and often stepped in to correct form so we built the right foundation. That gave me confidence and made the classes something I looked forward to instead of dreaded.

Over time, I enjoyed Boot Camp so much that I moved into CrossFit. I’m still a beginner in CrossFit and probably will be for a while but my weight loss has accelerated since making the switch, and I’ve started feeling stronger, healthier, and more positive overall.

So far, I’ve had classes with seven different coaches plus Brad, the owner, and every one of them has been dedicated, approachable, and engaged. Each coach has their own style, which makes it fun you pick up something new in every session. Brad himself is humble and very committed to building the kind of community that makes people want to keep coming back.

The best part of this gym is the great community of coaches n people. It’s full of people who push themselves, encourage each other, and make the hard work enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place that challenges you but also supports you, CrossFit One World is it.

“I really like this gym. They have TRX and Crossfit classes available. I wish they would add a spin class but we shall see. I think CG members can get verified as Crossfit trainers as well. The cardio room is ok but there are about 4 or 5 rows of cardio equip. The weight room is big with lots of equipment but only one deadlift platform.”

“I've been a client at Express Strength for a little over a year and I am happy to report that I have experienced a significant improvement in my strength and knee related issues. Alexis is kind, patient, knowledgeable and clear. I always get an excellent workout and look forward to my time at her studio. If your physical therapy work is not keeping pace with your progress, please consider Alexis & Jack's studio! I admit I was dubious about using machine weights and fewer workouts but their method really works. Consistency is key and they are methodical and meticulous in their planning, attention and training.”

“Here the thing, my ex-wife trains with Nick Fontaine, and Josilyn I hear they are great kids, im in oregon so i get photo and ill say this, the change is nothing short of incredible, my ex looks (i dont want to say beautiful) as pretty as the first day we met, so i started to do the 3 day introduction, and i didn't lose weight but i think I losed 3 or 4 inches around my waist, i cant believe it, those kids know what there doing.”

“The gym is for tenants of PRC, so it's not public. You register on their website and sign in at the front each visit, but there's no limit to the number of visits. They have a good selection of equipment, with some free weights, several machines, and a range of cardio equipment. The hours are a bit limited, but it's still an extremely convenient gym.”

“I've been going to D's since 2016 and feel like it's home. My favorite classes are Ivania's Tues morning strength class and Jess' Thursday evening zumba class. They're incredible instructors and make all who come feel welcome. The gym has everything you need: free weights, machines, mats etc. I can't wait to see it once renovations are complete! The new owner has taken time to consider what an ideal women's gym should have. Once, it's all finished it will look and be THE place to workout in Castro Valley. Don't hesitate to check D's out!”
