“I called Scott at Landis Auto Sales about a 2014 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 and drove from San Jose to SanLuis Obispo to see the vehicle two days later. Scott said he would not sell the vehicle until after I saw it. The vehicle was as clean as described, if not better. I checked out the entire vehicle top to bottom and could not even find a trace of dust under the seats or under carriage. Scott took the time to explain what he knew about the entire vehicle bumper to bumper. He actually did a better job than many new car dealerships I've been to. I noticed all the cars on his lot were impecably clean inside and out. There was never any pressure to buy any of his vehicles. The decision was totally mine based on the information he sincerely provided. I would highly recommend Landis Auto Sales to anyone willing to take the drive to visit a sincere used car auto dealer. Honestly, they have the cleanest vehicles I have ever seen. Lastly, I have owned my Tacoma for one month and have had no complaints about it, and I am completely satisfied with my purchase and customer service Scott provided.On a last note, Scott sent me a $500 check to replace two rear tires because one of the existing tires was not a matching set. All tires were in very good shape, with between 5-10k miles on them. Honestly, I didn't even notice it, and he noticed it when he was showing me the vehicle and didn't want to sell a vehicle that didn't have a matching set of tires. Scott gets a 10+/10 rating, in my opinion, and I worked over 30 years in a customer service oriented career as a public employee. Eric T. Santa Clara, Ca.”

“I just bought a 2014 VW Jetta TDI from McCarthy's. I had nothing but a great experience, this was the third or fourth car that a member of my family has bought from them in the last 20 years and it was once again a good purchase. I did want to add that although the car salesmen at McCarthy's were friendly and helpful, they are also businessmen and as honest as they are, or appear, they are looking to make a dollar just as much as you are looking to save one. I was really happy with my service and found that the salesmen at McCarthy's are much less pushy than at other car dealerships in town, I was happy to see there was a professional person left in the world of buying and selling a car. All that being said I would be careful before committing to buy anything from them unless you get a breakdown of what the extra fees are. This time, when I bought by diesel Jetta, there were no additional fees other than sales tax and DMV fees, but several years ago I bought a C class Benz from them and they tacked on a $200 box of car cleaning supplies which I could have bought for $75 at Walmart. That being said, good luck buying anything from a dealership these days without some extra fees, which are usually BS. I honestly think that McCarthy's is one of the last places in the area that you can buy a good car, for a good price without a bunch of crazy fees. I have experience with sales and know a salesman when I see one and can usually get by fine when I'm buying something, I would definitely recommend checking McCarthy's out if you are looking for a quality vehicle. I paid $18,300 for my TDI Jetta with 44xxx miles on it, that was $17,000 for the car and $1,300 in taxes and fees. That's really upfront when you go to a dealership these days and I was happy with their customer service.”

“After a disappointing afternoon looking for an inexpensive, clean, well running, nice looking car for our granddaughter my husband and I landed at Heiland Auto Sales in Oceano. Honestly I was a bit skeptical but we had run out of options in the 5 cities. Finding a perfect used car that fit our budget was proving to be very difficult.
