“Operation Freedom Paws truly changed the direction of my life at a time when I felt completely lost. Returning from deployment with both visible and invisible injuries was something I struggled to navigate. Not all wounds can be seen, and not everyone understands the weight of the ones that aren’t. But Operation Freedom Paws did. They saw me, they heard me, and they met me exactly where I was.
Their program is nothing short of life‑changing. The entire team pours genuine compassion, expertise, and dedication into every client and every dog. They don’t simply train service dogs — they rebuild confidence, restore independence, and help people rediscover a sense of purpose and joy in their daily lives. The level of individualized support, respect, and care they provide is extraordinary.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to Mary, Janet, Ramon, Steve, Kathy, and the rest of the incredible OFP staff. Each of them played a role in helping me find stability, strength, and hope again. Their commitment to their mission is unmatched, and the impact they have on veterans and individuals with unseen injuries is profound.

“I was coming from the coast taking highway 152 over to the 101 freeway. I just so happen to say to my son wouldn’t it be cool if we found a Goodwill. As I said that my son went on his phone and checked his maps and he said if you go two more lights, it’ll be on your left-hand side. I entered the store my first impressions were WOW!!! What a great selection of everything you can think of ,,,,from Housewares to clothing to shoes and everything in between. The store was clean. It was well organized, and I will definitely make the drive to shop here again. I wish we had a store just like this one closer to my home. Most of the Goodwill stores in my area have closed over the years.”

“I enjoy being a member of the San Martin Lions Club. The Lions Club is the largest service organization in the world. There are Lions Clubs in 37 countries. The conventions are fun and a great way to make new friends. Some of our future projects include repainting the playground of a local elementary school. Fundraisers to support our service projects include The Pre-Mother's Day Arts and Crafts Fair and Raffle on Saturday, April 29th and Bingo starting in the beginning of June. If you want to make new friends and be a service to the community, consider becoming a Lion!”
