“I had driven by Routes Gallery many times and always wondered what it was; today I was waiting for someone shopping next door at United so I decided to check it out. Routes has such a spacious and peaceful outdoor area with an assortment of plants and Buddhist and Hindu sculptures. Step inside and be immersed in more art and culture. There were Tibetan prayer flags, sage, bamboo, crystals, beads, and more. The singing bowls caught my attention. The owner of Routes was at the gallery; he was so friendly and I appreciated that he took time to talk to me and share his knowledge of the different bowls (they had metal and crystal). While I didn't buy anything on this visit to Routes, I enjoyed browsing the gallery and taking in the energy. I'll definitely be back!”

The store is filled with interesting books, beautiful housewares, handmade soups, crystals, art, locally crafted jewelry, assortment of bulk teas, unique houseplants and many handcrafted items created by local artist. Visiting the store is a delightful way to spend time and shop for gifts or something special for yourself while spending an afternoon in Larkspur. “This is a cute contract post office & gift shop. I can't imagine saying, "a cute post office." But, here we are. The shop is crisp and beautiful; filled with high-end Marin souvenirs I was walking past when I spotted the Mariage Frères tea. I was excited to try a new variety and asked the owner for a recommendation. He gave me some options and let me take them outside to smell them. They were all lovely and I went home with a new canister. If you're in search of Marin swag, this is a good place to look.”

“I ordered the #PS509 Flight Attendant 3-D Wood Sign with a lower personalization plate for my sister-in-law last month. She is now a retired Purser for a major US airline, and that plaque was just perfect for her retirement party. At first, the sign was showing not available on their website. A quick call to Nancy there at Tailwinds solved that problem (computer glitch), and the follow-on ordering was super easy! A few days later, Nancy called me back and said that the manufacturer suggested a slightly different formatting of the lower personalization plate (where the airline name and dates of service are printed.) I accepted that slight tweak, and in just a few days, the completed plaque was sent directly to my brother (so he could wrap it up for the pending party.) My sister-in-law LOVES the plaque, and it is now proudly displayed in her home office (along with all of my brother's USMC plaques from the '80s.) In fact, all of her fellow flight attendants just had to know where she got that sign from, so I quickly provided them a link to the Tailwinds.com website. Just some great products and excellent customer service! Thanks, Tailwinds, and Nancy!”

I had been looking for the candles that are locally made in San Rafael, and they have them here! Also got some fun stocking stuffers. “I needed some comfy, loose, cotton white pants (with pockets!) and thought of trying to find some at this store. The salesperson was very helpful and friendly. Amazingly, they had exactly what I needed. The pants were very comfortable and a reasonable price, too. Speaking of price, they only accept cash and I was short on the amount of cash I had on hand. The salesperson (actually maybe the owner?) said it was okay, I could bring the rest of the money later; he said he trusted me. Wow. That is not the kind of shopping experience one has every day. Check them out and support a lovely local business!”
