Here's what you need to know about Quest Diagnostics: I have no reason to question the quality of the laboratory services in terms of accuracy, reliability, etc. That is not the problem here. In years past, the atmosphere at a Quest lab site was rather relaxed and low-key. Often, you could be seen on a drop-in basis, although you might have to wait 10-20 minutes for that option. However, a few years ago Quest implemented a rigid schedule for patient appointments, and allocated just 10 minutes for each appointment slot. If you happen to arrive 5-10 minutes after the beginning of your time slot, you run the risk of being refused service because you are 'late.' Similarly, if you come to the lab without an appointment, you will be instructed that waiting for drop-in service is pretty much a waste of time - as all the available service slots are filled. You will not be seen unless you register with the computer check-in device in the waiting room. You have to stand in front of this device and, among other things, produce your driving license and primary and secondary insurance cards -for the computer to photograph (front and back). If you are little unsteady on your feet, try opening your wallet, fumbling around in search of the necessary cards, and placing them in the appropriate slot to be photographed. It can be a time-consuming challenge. You are not considered 'checked-in' until you complete the process. If you do not complete the process before the end of the time slot for your appointment, you may be refused service as you are 'late.' As you might imagine, the rigid and inflexible schedule of 10-minute appointment slots invariably results in stressful interactions between staff and patients. Any glitch in adhering to the 10-minute schedule put the lab staff under stress, and less likely to be helpful to any patient without an appointment, or someone who needs extra time. I assume the rigid schedule for service improves bottom-line profitability for the Quest Corporation - even as it sometimes makes for an unpleasant atmosphere at the lab site. It cannot be easy to work as a lab tech at Quest these days. I imagine there is more turnover of staff. Oh well, I guess if the value of the Quest stock price remains robust, why would anyone at Quest really care if it is the lab staff and patients who pay the price?

The Worst Customer service I've EVER received. There was absolutely no understanding, compassion or common decency and good etiquette on the staff's part. On top of that while I was trying to talk to the technician, a mean, sad and bitter other client interrupted me which turned into an argument, while the staff member was ABSOLUTELY terrible at doing their job... I wouldn't recommend this place if someone offered me a Trillion dollars to do so. TERRIBLE that I was treated so terribly. It really hurt me and ruined my day. ABSOLUTELY NO COMPASSION OR DIGNITY AT ALL WHATSOEVER. If I could give them a negative number star rating I would.

Went there yesterday to turn in a sputum test, ordered by my UC Pulmonologist. I got an argument from their rude phlebotomist, who found a bloodwork order but somehow missed the sputum test order. He flatly and rudely REFUSED to send it for testing. Another sore point regarding Quest Labs is that should one try and book an appoinment by phone or on-line, Quest's IDIOT A1 computer cannot handle a name that is is longer than 6 letters. After countless past attempt, I NO LONGER USE QUEST FOR BLOODWORK, ETC. There are far superior labs out there!

Worse than the DMV? Maybe not, but this place is a dive. Does not inspire confidence. Unfriendly staff. Dirty. You have to enter your information into the screen that wobbles back-and-forth every time you touch it.

This is t he most impersonal rude, unprofessional uncaring so called diagnostics I have ever visited in my entire life. And I've been dealing with diagnostic centers for 41 years in 7 different states and none are as rude as even the recorded line you hear when you call. Just call and listen yourself

They use a stupid phone tree maze that makes it nearly or fully impossible to respect our time by simply directly efficiently reaching and talking with a real live human being. Just a stupid circuitious automated phone tree maze, wasting valuable time loopoing around in instead of just calling and reaching a live human being to talk with at their office.

Its a little low rent and a fast food version of a medical lab but it serves those of us in the community who rely on Medi-Cal covered clinics. As for the run of the mill UA testing and generic administration and testing of various maladies and vaccines- its when they are required to hit the vein of a hard stick that the limitations begin to show.

My experience was simply, straight AWFUL!!!After making my appointment the week prior of my appointment, at the request of my doctor, I showed up for my appointment at this location. This was my first time using the services and their "automatic checking in service". I arrived on time for my appointment as I always do for any appointment. I checked in on a system that I have not use before, but I was able to manage it until the request of my insurance card. I realized that after looking on my purse my bigger wallet and not finding it, I texted my husband to get copy of my card, and I tried to scan it on the system, but I was unsuccessfully to do so. I decided to wait to talk to the counter person, who was attending another customer and they took a little while to resolve this customer issues. She was able to instruct to hit "do not consent" and by the time I did it (which I have to sign in as a second time, bc the system run out of time), the system would not allow me to do so. I decided to wait, until another technician came out and told me that I "arrived late to the appointment". I explained to her the issues with the system and her response was "you didn't arrive on time to your appointment". I explained to her that "I was on time to my appointment and that it was their system that was messed up. She said that I had "10 minutes to do so" and I reconfirmed that I was on time, I tried to check in twice and that I was on time for my appointment at 9:00am. Her response was "no, you arrived at 9:11 and the system give you only 10 minutes", which she was lying about it. I have proof of that, which is the text of my husband sent me with the insurance card, which it was under 10 minutes...There was only one more client there that had just arrived as well and she conveyed that she was early and was wondering if she can go ahead and do it. Their response was "you need to wait for your appt". No one else was there except her and I... it seems they don't want to work and their service is awful. Lack of training, not interest in providing a service. If they don't like to work with public, they should not being expose to the public. Their attitudes were far from friendly, service oriented. Service and attitude were completely rude and awful!

Don't dare show up without an appt. Phone recording still indicates a walk in is ok, but it's now a restricted "stand by" system. :/ And hey Quest, how about giving fasting tests a priority? I can't get a morning appointment for 5 days!

Already backed up with a full waiting room by 8:30am with no receptionist and an online sign in system that confused all of the elderly patients. The digital sign in is great but not without the ability for people to get help or ask questions.

I went there to get the appt time I could meet. Old building (ok but do something), dirty doors..white but black on all door contact points, old people coming in thinking they can check in on the app there. Then sitting down for 20 minutes. One in a wheel chair. 20 minutes later, told we dont take Walk ins . Sent away. They were 80 and made appt on a land line. Then me. Great veins(critical care rn)gets stuck several times. Went to car. Bleeding lots, came back in for help. Not on anticoagulants. Very short staffed. 2 phlebotomists doin their best but no other staff. Also, freezing in there. Quest is a joke at this location at least

This place canceled my appointment 15 minutes before it was to take place by text. I called the office but was not able to speak to a live person. I'm never going here again.
