“During the week that my mom passed away someone in a parking lot scraped my driver's side bumper on my BMW X1. No note, no anything, another stress I did not need!
We made our way to Caliber Collision on Edison off Gutierrez Street and they fixed the bumper promptly and perfectly ... no stress! I mentioned that I was really frustrated with my foggy looking headlamps. The shop said we could try to polish them and make them look better! This was not part of my insurance repair but this shop went above and beyond and made my car look fantatic!
Will be recommending this shop to anyone in need!

“I recently purchased a used F150 from Santa Barbara Auto Group. I live in the bay area and since this was a long distance away from my home, I worked with Mark Bourdo who is an experienced salesman and a car enthusiast. Mark made sure that my purchase was super seamless and I was in and out super quick. No pressure sales tactics and extremely helpful. He went above and beyond to ensure that the car was clean and even helped me take out my roof rails from the other car to be put on the new one.
I also worked with Shannon from finance and she was very kind and patient in explaining all paperwork and guided me on extended warranty needs. Again no pressure and very helpful!
Finally the dealership explained all tech + features of the truck to me and even gave me tips on maintenance even though they are not a Ford dealership (basically they did their research on the truck prior to my arrival).
I will definitely recommend this dealership to all my friends and especially Mark.”

“I reached out because my radiator just started randomly leaking coolant and I wasn’t too sure where to go since I’m originally not from here. I did a quick Google search and was led to this radiator shop, called and spoke to Juan and they managed to fit me in the next day. When I came in, they looked at my car and we found that one of the plugs on the radiator had busted. Luckily they managed to fix it within 20 minutes at a very good price and sent me on my way! Would definitely recommend this shop to everyone as Juan and his team are honest mechanics and truly seem to care about their customers! I have now found my new trusted mechanic! Thank you so much!”
“As a single female truck owner going to a new shop for a checkup on my jalopy 1988 F-150, I drove towards Westside Auto Repair with visions of a pack of price gouging wolves descending upon me. I pictured the faceless mechanics licking their chops and saying “It’s our lucky day boys! She’s a girl, so it’s unlikely she knows anything about cars. Let’s tell her everything is wrong with her truck and charge her LOADS of money because she’s a new customer!” Not the case at all!! Alexis was so kind and fair, and provided a detailed report of what could be done in the future, and walked me through each possible repair from urgent non-urgent. I felt respected and like my judgement was valued, and that ultimately all choices were up to me. They didn’t even mind my Alan Jackson Chatahoochee cassette that I left on when I dropped off the truck! Quality and prompt service - I’ll be back.”

“I wanted to thank Hector and team at Santa Barbara Autowerks for helping get my wife's BMW X3 brakes replaced quickly as we were visiting SB for a short vacation and had limited time and needed fixed before the next long drive. He was knowledgeable on the vehicle, explained process and pricing (cheaper than BMW and very fair compared to other bids). When he analyzed the front and rear brakes he said the rear brakes were about 50% and the BMW warning was the sensors for the front pads. He replaced sensors and pads with factory parts and reset computer alert. An honest shop! They have my recommendation and if I ever have another car problem, hopefully not, when visiting the area again - Hector and team is my go to. Thank you!”

Rudy was exceedingly helpful, got me a full replacement engine with only 15k miles on it for a great price, and threw in a few extra services to boot.

“I was surprised to read some of the 1 star reviews which is where I usually start when deciding whose service I want to use. I have to say they sound bogus and stupidly written, perhaps by competitors. Had they gone back to either John or Tom they would have responded and worked with their customer to resolve any issue. My name is Stephen Wheeler, I am a CPA and very familiar with how auto repair shops work. Smog It is not one of my clients by the way, My son and I have been taking our cars to John and Tom for 10 years and have never had an issue with the service they provide or the work that they do. Tom, the former owner, works for John and he has worked on a couple of my cars and after having tried using several other shops, I would say this guy is amazing at what he knows. I can't speak for newer cars, my cars are a 2003 Cooper, 81 VW Vanagon and a 58 Rambler. When my Vanagon had smog issues, Tom knew what to do to repair it to get the emissions to meet the tests. When I picked up the car once, it wasn't running well, I took it back a bit upset and Tom knew exactly what to do. We all make mistakes, the difference is owning up to them and taking care of it as opposed to covering them up. Smog It will take care of any customers issue as long as they have been made aware of it. I would ignore the one star ratings and take your car for Smog certification and other repairs that they might offer. These guys are a breath of fresh air when it comes to several other shops I have used in the past. I always write reviews, they empower us the consumers to make informed decisions but when it comes to reviews, you have to read them carefully.”

My story with this place started when the window on my car door came off its track — and the owner of this shop managed to fix it quickly, simply, and without charging me anything unnecessary.
While on a road trip, I had to stop by several auto shops, and most of them were focused only on making money — replacing parts for even the smallest issues and charging outrageous prices. But the owner of this shop is a true professional — experienced, skilled, and genuinely honest.
Two years later, I still remember him fondly. I had a Prius with a right rear door that wouldn’t open because the handle mechanism was jammed. Every other shop told me the only solution was to replace the entire door, but this man knew better. He carefully opened it from the inside, adjusted the lock and handle, and fixed the problem completely.
He could have easily charged me hundreds of dollars for a door replacement, but instead, he chose honesty and craftsmanship. On top of that, his friendly attitude and genuine conversation made a lasting impression on me — he’s truly someone I’ll remember for many years.
Later on, he even helped me sell my car, acting as an honest and fair intermediary for both sides. It’s rare to meet someone with such integrity and kindness — a true example of professionalism and character.”

Fast and efficient service, and even offered me a water bottle which I appreciated. As a younger girl who knows nothing about cars, I get nervous going to auto shops, this was probably one of my best experiences. AND the smog check was inexpensive! In and out in under 20 mins and spent less than $60:)”
