“Downtown Santa Barbara is an absolute gem! The blend of stunning Spanish Colonial architecture, vibrant cultural scene, and picturesque ocean views makes it a perfect destination for a day trip or an extended stay. State Street is bustling with charming shops, fantastic restaurants, and cozy cafes, offering something for everyone. The local wineries and tasting rooms add a delightful touch to the experience. The area is also incredibly walkable, with beautiful parks and historic sites easily accessible. Whether you're exploring the museums, enjoying a beach day, or just strolling through the streets, downtown Santa Barbara offers an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend a visit!”
“Absolutely the most beautiful and caring non profit for our family members and friends with dementia and memory loss
Thank you for all you do helping the clients still find joy in this chapter of life… and the relief and support you provide to family members”
“I was in their residential program and then their IOP for a total of 7 months. This place helped me in ways other programs could not and I was able to grow a community of my own.”
“I am so incredibly grateful that this organization exists. I want to shout out the amazing Tori and Mo, who so lovingly and efficiently guided me through a particular process abroad (as a U.S. citizen), which will allow me to access a much-needed high-cost medication. This is absolutely life-changing and I hope to be able to return the favor to Direct Relief someday soon. Thank you for your service ??”
“Cannot speak highly enough about Karla and Immigrant Hope in general - I would not have been able to apply for citizenship until July of 2024 but Karla helped us find out that due to my husband's employment I was eligible to apply for citizenship back in May of 2022. After over 18 months of waiting, I finally had my citizenship interview and then had my oath ceremony this past week and am now an Australian American! I'm so thankful for Karla's care and compassion throughout the entire process. We could not have done this without her!”
“**February 2024: Monday Late Morning Visit** I've been to a number of Assistance Leagues throughout California and I really like this branches selection and layout. They have a wide selection of women's apparel and four dressing rooms. In the back of the shop are the higher quality items that are also separated by garment type. It has a very boutiquey feel to it and all the volunteers are super sweet. Prices were very fair/competitive to other thrift shops, but I scored a long sleeve and slacks for half off. The next time I'm in the Santa Barbara area I will definitely be back!”
“I would give them 10 stars if I could.
Bikes: They have an excellent selection of used bikes at genuinely great prices. I love browsing the inventory to see what hidden gems are tucked away in the back. If you're shopping for a new fancy bike, this may not be your spot- But for just about everyone else, this is THE spot.
Parts: Their collection of mostly used parts is unmatched, and the prices are even better. Whenever I need a component, I stop here before buying new. They have what I need surprisingly often, and it's almost impossible not to leave with a few unexpected finds. It's hard to pass up a great deal on something you *might* need down the road.
Service: Everyone here is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. It's one of the few bike shops I've visited where I'm consistently greeted with smiles and enthusiasm. The staff has helped me through numerous repairs and upgrades, and I always leave with my bike in better shape than when I arrived. Having access to tools and guidance while learning to work on my own bike is an absolute dream.
I can't recommend this place highly enough.”
“The student employees were quick and honest. Prices were also surpisingly incredibly cheap. I only paid 15 for my tube and 20 for my tire to be replaced. They also reduced the height of my seat for free. Repair time was only about 15 minutes as well. I would highly recommend going here for fixing up your bike!”

“When you're unable to get out and shop, too fatigued to cook a healthy meal to help yourself heal even if you could, and not well off enough to order delivery, there comes a time when you could use a helping hand. It happens to a lot of people. Food From The Heart helps with delicious, flavorful, healthy, protein-rich food, enough for the whole day, maybe two. We're lucky we live in Santa Barbara to encounter such warm-hearted folks.”
“Great experience so far. Kids have been there for summer camp, now also after school. They are always in a great mood on the way to and from the club. Affordable, great hours, and very nice staff.”
“the Unity Shoppe Thrift store. This store is a gem of Santa Barbara CA. they have home goods , furniture and vintage clothin. Some of designer clothing can be a bit high, I personally wait for weekends for the mark downs . I have a freindly relationship with the staff. Christina , Happy and Gloria. Excellent customer service. Stop in you now be disappointed! Best, Ron”
“I was living there in 2017. I was treated with kindness and respect. The facility was clean and the food very good. They helped me to obtain housing. They offer church service which I loved. I will always be grateful to the staff and my precious Lord and Savior Jesus for that experience.”
“The staff is phenomenal they go above and beyond to make you feel like family. I can be at work and know my kids are in good hands. We love the boys and girls club”
“This Goodwill location is well run with friendly staff
and inventory turns over quickly. We go for the book selection and the home goods are also pretty good. With any Goodwill you never know what you might find, but this one is a winner!”
“Thank you for helping me take all my stuff out of my car! I was immediately greeted in the back by the nicest people. I even got help pulling out of Hailey St., at the downtown Santa Barbara location off of Carrillo.”
“WYP was the "feel good hit" of each summer camp season for our kids. I believe this kind of education is very important and should be available to all children through schools, after school and all summer long.”
“I have known the Fish Reef project for over a decade. One of the few organizations out there making a tangible difference. If your passion is Ocean Health, please support them, they are the solution for the restoration of the lost west coast kelp forest.”
“Alex Depaoli is a highly professional caring doctor that treats patients with compassion; no rushing, very thorough explains all details of condition and treatment. Highly recommended.”
“It’s a great place for the kids. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Kids learn in a fun way. Staff always makes sure that the kids are safe because that is one of their main concerns. They ALWAYS protect the integrity of the kids. They also care about the parents and their well-being. They also help kids that go through emotional trauma and offer many resources. My daughter was there for 2 years, and she absolutely loved it ”
“I spent the entire year of 2013 at Bethel House. The best decision of my life. After graduating, I didn't want to leave. LOL! I have never met such amazing people, the staff was so loving, supportive and selfless. I would recommend this program to anyone who is struggling with addiction. I also was fortunate to volunteer at the homeless program. I can never thank them enough for helping me get my life back”
