“I mean, one of the top 10 gardens in the world. Yeah, I could see that. It's fantastic. Even if you only kinda like plants it's worth the stroll through the plants and gardens. Expertly tended, in fantastic shape and a treat.
You have to get tickets in advance. If they are sold out, call or keep watching the website as they do update. Only open a few days a week, so plan ahead. It's not cheap to visit, but it is worth it in my opinion. Although I do like plants.
Arrive on time as the tour window is 2 hours and if you dally you will use up every minute of that time.”

“This little vintage theatre is awesome!! We were driving through Downtown Carpenteria and saw this place. They only had one movie and limited showings but we knew we wanted to check it out. We love old theatres. We went online to purchas tickets. The process was very easy. When we arrived to the theatre we were greeted by two very friendly ladies that showed us to our seats and gave us all the info about the theatre and welcomed us to the snack bar. The theatre was very cool. Seats that reminded me of the "good ole' days" of movie theatres, but comfortable. The balcony stage with red curtains. Blue curtains on the sides. It was very cool! We walked around and read all the stuff hanging on the walls. A lot of history! Because of Covid they had limited seating so we ended up watching our movie with about 10 other people in the whole theatre. It was great! It was like a special VIP preview! We will definitely revisit this theatre next time we were in town.”

“Downtown Santa Barbara is an absolute gem! The blend of stunning Spanish Colonial architecture, vibrant cultural scene, and picturesque ocean views makes it a perfect destination for a day trip or an extended stay. State Street is bustling with charming shops, fantastic restaurants, and cozy cafes, offering something for everyone. The local wineries and tasting rooms add a delightful touch to the experience. The area is also incredibly walkable, with beautiful parks and historic sites easily accessible. Whether you're exploring the museums, enjoying a beach day, or just strolling through the streets, downtown Santa Barbara offers an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend a visit!”

“I was in their residential program and then their IOP for a total of 7 months. This place helped me in ways other programs could not and I was able to grow a community of my own.”

“Stayed there 2006. 10-day program, but can get renewals. It was a great place. I was fortunate, at that time, because THE GIRL IN CHARGE WAS NICE. I worked and they gave me opportunity to rebuild my life. Food plenty and good. Served with love and respect. Prayer service wonderful. Clothes locked so no fear of robberies.
Light chores. THANK YOU, lol”

“Cannot speak highly enough about Karla and Immigrant Hope in general - I would not have been able to apply for citizenship until July of 2024 but Karla helped us find out that due to my husband's employment I was eligible to apply for citizenship back in May of 2022. After over 18 months of waiting, I finally had my citizenship interview and then had my oath ceremony this past week and am now an Australian American! I'm so thankful for Karla's care and compassion throughout the entire process. We could not have done this without her!”

“**February 2024: Monday Late Morning Visit** I've been to a number of Assistance Leagues throughout California and I really like this branches selection and layout. They have a wide selection of women's apparel and four dressing rooms. In the back of the shop are the higher quality items that are also separated by garment type. It has a very boutiquey feel to it and all the volunteers are super sweet. Prices were very fair/competitive to other thrift shops, but I scored a long sleeve and slacks for half off. The next time I'm in the Santa Barbara area I will definitely be back!”

“I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Bikes: They have an excellent selection of used bikes at genuinely great prices. I love browsing the inventory to see what hidden gems are tucked away in the back. If you're shopping for a new fancy bike, this may not be your spot- But for just about everyone else, this is THE spot.

Parts: Their collection of mostly used parts is unmatched, and the prices are even better. Whenever I need a component, I stop here before buying new. They have what I need surprisingly often, and it's almost impossible not to leave with a few unexpected finds. It's hard to pass up a great deal on something you *might* need down the road.

Service: Everyone here is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. It's one of the few bike shops I've visited where I'm consistently greeted with smiles and enthusiasm. The staff has helped me through numerous repairs and upgrades, and I always leave with my bike in better shape than when I arrived. Having access to tools and guidance while learning to work on my own bike is an absolute dream.

I can't recommend this place highly enough.”

“I was grateful for the food deliveries from Food from the heart. This food really is from the heart. The meals are nicely packaged/ the meals were fresh and real dinners - lunch and breakfast were given, along with fresh fruits and vegetables. A positive news letter was also given with the meals that will give you some giggles while you’re recovering from surgery or any other illnesses that limit you from providing yourself with meals. I loved the homemade meals- grateful and blessed.”

“I have known the Fish Reef project for over a decade. One of the few organizations out there making a tangible difference. If your passion is Ocean Health, please support them, they are the solution for the restoration of the lost west coast kelp forest.”

“It’s a great place for the kids. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Kids learn in a fun way. Staff always makes sure that the kids are safe because that is one of their main concerns. They ALWAYS protect the integrity of the kids. They also care about the parents and their well-being. They also help kids that go through emotional trauma and offer many resources. My daughter was there for 2 years, and she absolutely loved it ”

“If there are paranormal experiences, 'criminals lurking', and 'even homeless people' (oh no!!) at St. Vincent's, it sounds like exactly the place where Christ would be. Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” -Matthew 9:12-13”
