"Behind every great community is a great bank" If you are looking for personable customer service who strive to get things done quickly, this is an exceptional bank. My company was with Silicon Valley Bank for six years and the disaster impacted our company along with other companies, share holders, and investors. MBT moved quickly to accommodate us with grace during this transition. Special thank you to Mark Campos and Lora Taylor. If you are looking for a bank that you can trust this is the place of a hidden gem.

Not the friendliest bank on the planet, lots of staff changes, rarely see the same teller twice. Montecito Bank does not share information with other banks causing lengthy holds to be placed on checks. Why not share with other banks?

Basic banking features. I wanted to establish accounts with a local bank so decided to bank with MB&T. The staff is nice but the service isn't great. I made some deposits and the teller had a lot of questions about the source of funds. Banks are required to collect information about transactions over a certain dollar amount but my deposit was nothing close to that amount. Basically it wasn't the teller nor the banks business on what the source of funds for my deposit was and I really didn't appreciate the prying questions. Not sure if I'll maintain my accounts here long term.

Never have I ever experienced such poor mishandling of money and neglectful, offhand customer service. I began banking with Montecito Bank & Trust in November- the sign up process took hours, and I was told to wait while they ran around in several different directions, fruitlessly trying to get their debit card printer to work. I was told to come back tomorrow, which I did, and still no debit card. Less than a month after beginning my service with them, a mistake was made where my money was mishandled, and when I inquired as to what the bank would do to fix this mistake I was shepherded out the door by the manager himself, with no regard as to where I would be taking my business. I placed several calls to the relations manager, Angela, who not only did not fix my problem but failed to give me a promised call back about the issue. I have several friends in the community who are looking to switch to a smaller local bank, and I will give you the same advice I have given all of them- DO NOT bank here unless you're looking for a headache and many hours of wasted time.

For the second time visiting the la cumbre location...I had the worse and most humiliating experience ever. I didn't write about the first visit because I was so shocked that we as citizens and humans can be so Programmed by the establishment. It's so bad... about a month ago I needed to change a twenty dollar bill and walked into the bank to get change. I was told by the teller that if I didn't have an acct--he could t give me two tens in exchange for my twenty. I just used their atm outside the door-paid the atm fee that they charge and still was not helped a a customer spending LEGAL U.S. tender. Today I was told I couldn't cash a check because they weren't able to contact by phone-- the person who wrote me the check. I sincerely hope that this local bank isn't around much longer. Their business practices are prejudice and selective. If I never have to use this bank again I'd be one happy customer. What's even worse is I know the family who owns this bank--get it together people

This review is for Montecito Bank & Trust itself, not its employees. Would rather give zero stars. I have never had more trouble with finances in my life than trying to keep track of mine with this Bank. I literally have to write everything down and constantly calculate percentages to know what I might have tomorrow. Might. You never know if you use their app or their atm service. The amount fluctuates hourly for no apparent reason and I've been randomly charged 100 dollars dead even twice with a ghost reference number that leads to nothing.

PEOPLE BEWARE THIS BANK LOST $4000 OF MY CASH AND HASN'T RETURNED IT.I deposited $4000 from an ATM in 2 sets of 20x$100 bills. I received 2 slips confirming the correct amount was counted and opted for "no receipt" so no final receipt was printed. I threw the slips away, then realized the money never hit my account. The bank claims their balance history and cameras didn't catch it either. This is CRAZY. I have never heard of a bank's ATM losing money, and the bank not finding it; and I've worked years as a bank employee for different banks throughout my life. Find another place to store your money. Weather my money was stolen or lost somehow, I do not know, but I haven't gotten it back and they have concluded their investigation.

This is the best bank! We've been with them for our personal and my business for almost 30 years now. The nicest people work there. Unlike Wells Fargo, where my husband's business banking is there is such a turnover in employees. MBT has people I've known for years. They greet me with my name when I come in. My business has been featured on their monthly table. They call me if something is arye with my account. Going into any one of there branches is a lovely experience, beautiful surroundings, I'm not bombarded with tons of advertising. I highly recommend MBT.

I give Montecito Bank & Trust the lowest possible score, having explored placing funds with them, only to discover that they're too chintzy even to accept phone calls to local branches. If a customer has a question or concern, they can just join a queue at a distant call center. NOPE--not the personal attention I'm used to! I can't imagine entrusting such a bank with a major deposit when every future query will be routed through an impersonal call center rather than answered by a local banker. Thumbs down!

I hate this bank. I opened an account here several years ago because I wanted to support a local bank. I cannot tell you the frustrations I have had. The technology is so out of date, extracting reports older than one month is an exercise in futility. Their hours are abysmal, M-F 9-5. Their interest rates on savings and cd's are probably the lowest in the country. I am just to lazy to go to the trouble of switching all my accounts. I hope I can do someone a service with this review by preventing them from getting enmeshed in this antiquated organization in the first place.

Not good for business accounts, outdated technology, poor customer service, lots of mistakes and issues fixing them.
