Safeway Liquor is a neighborhood corner market and convenience store that also sells beer and liquor. It is a small store with a variety of items, decently stocked with almost everything you need. The owners are nice guys and they stay open later in the evenings for added convenience. This shopping center appears run down and not as nice as newer places, but it is a decent local option. The deli department is a highlight, known for friendly service and good food. Staff members are described as sweet, kind, and welcoming, always with a smile and happy to help customers. The deli offers $8 meals with one entree and two sides. The entrees, mostly variations of chicken like fried, teriyaki, and buffalo, are solid and pretty good for grocery deli food, though sometimes a little dry. The sides truly shine, with about ten different pasta and salad options. Notable favorites include a pea and prosciutto-like ham pasta salad, a mango kale salad with coconut and cashews with a sweet and tangy dressing, and a basil pasta salad with sun dried tomatoes. Other popular items are the hot, flavorful, and crispy fried chicken and potato wedges, as well as delicious sandwiches made with fresh ingredients. Fresh donuts from the bakery are also a treat. The value is excellent, with heaping portions that can sometimes last for two meals. The store also features a Starbucks inside, and the checkers are noted as being nice enough. While regular Safeway prices are considered high, the sales and deals make things decently priced.
