“I appreciate all the volunteers and especially the pastor whomever greeted me afterwards to chat for a bit. Going through hard times is tough. Need a little shade while waiting though.Thank you.”

“Love stopping here when I can, some prices are good, some are really high. One super con is they mark directly on items with permanent market. Annoying to get off, sometimes it doesn’t come off and for real writing onto wood with marker? 2 thumbs down for permanent market. I do love the staff, they are also so helpful and bright.”

“Arrived here on a Friday afternoon with a friend around 3:30 pm! Parking is limited with spaces in the front, but other alternatives are street parking nearby or parking across the street with the larger plaza and Goodwill as a general landmark. If you decide to park in the plaza, there's a nearby crosswalk and it's about a 2-3 minute walk. Super excited to visit this thrift shop because it was recommended by 2 friends! The moment you walk in, you'll be surrounded by clothes! The store has lots of personality from vintage costumes dating to the Swing era, classic dress attire, to modern brands like Nike and Banana republic, to anime street wear. You can lose your sense of time since the place is so labyrinth like, moving from one room to another. The place has two floors- the base floor and upstairs. What caught my eyes were sports jerseys, vintage tees (Like an entire shirt with Michael Jackson's face), and vintage blazers for men. I like the volume of clothes on the racks, but it felt so stuffy inside despite having fans on. I can imagine that the summer would increase the temperature, especially with the sheer amount of fabric inside. A hidden gem in San Jose, that I would visit again for my thrift shopping needs or bring a friend from out of town!”

“This store contains great vintage furniture and home decor. It’s nothing like sorting through the Goodwill home goods section. As for the pricing, it’s a bit high but I can tell it’s worth it. There were several items that I would shell out $$$ for. I will return after some time to see what new pieces they have.”

“Found some amazing vintage pieces here! This store is small but MIGHTY. For the quality of items that they carry, I thought the prices were great. They also have an open dressing room, which I love. Expect to spend an average of around $10/item.”

“I love stopping in to Raising Nine every time I'm in the area! Sammie, the owner of the store, is so kind and it's clear she genuinely cares about her customers and her vendors. She is super knowledgeable about the products she carries! I'm already looking forward to my next visit and I've told all my friends to shop here too.”

“Lots of fun stuff, some rare shirts. More for fem but has some men's tees etc. Claw machine hates me, as a person for some reason. Not sure what I did, but would not relinquish the Bulbasaur.”

“This place is one of the best thrifting areas I've ever gone to. It's a bit on the smaller side, but it's better than those big thrift stores. Prices are a bit higher, but the items are vintage. They even have changing rooms in there. I like the style of the store. You'll probably find some clothing that could fit kids too, if you search. The clothing is really stylish and it's better than one of those huge thrifting stores. Staff is kind, and patient.”

“In need of something above your budget and a bit cheaper than retail price for middle and upper middle class brands like (h&m, free people, madewell, Lilly Pulitzer, etc) then come here. This store is basically Poshmark version in terms of pricing and minus the shipping fee. I'm not sure this is a good or bad thing. If you think of purchasing stuff on Poshmark, perhaps check out this store first! They have a good jeans selection. Lots of stuff are available in bigger size (medium running up) and not too many size S, XS which is my size (1 star off).Staff looked busy and were pretty nice.”

“I like this store because every time I went there I could find interesting clothes or handbags which are not available in the market anymore. They even have a vintage section which I like a lot. I feel sorry for those previous reviewers who didn't get nice service but for me the staffs I met were nice and helpful.”

“I've only been here to buy, not sell clothes.Every time I stop by Plato's, I find at least one item that I'm excited about. They have all types of brands, ranging from Nike to Brandy Melville to Zara. A lot of great options. They sell everything at a pretty fair price. I highly recommend closely checking your item for stains or tears. Last time I was there, I found a small tear, and they gave me a small discount for it. The caveat is that the item automatically becomes final sale.”
