“I'd been trying to go to this shop since I saw all the furniture options on their Social Media! Did not disappoint. As far as curated vintage shops go, it hit all the marks. The shop smelled very pleasant(if you're an avid vintage shopper you know thats always a plus!), the merchandising was brilliant and modern and the prices were VERY reasonable in my opinion! Bought the cutest Kokeshi dolls, but will be back for a Danish wall unit I fell in-love with. The customer service is great! The owner is very friendly and a San Jose native, always awesome to be able to support local. Might be back just for the conversation even, hehe.”
“Buying/ selling this place is where I would sell as they take very high end vintage items along with everyday where. So the price ranges. Pair jeans 20 designer under 100 they pay better than any other place as items they sell very fairly priced in comparison to pay.”

“Today I was in warehouse got impressed by their owner a great lady who took me for tour it was great every body was grading shoes & cloths for shipping overseas. After all of this detail tour I have decided to have numbness with any rag .”
“Great little sustainable gem in downtown San Jose! Mostly women's clothing with some men's vintage items. All items are hand curated by the owner Araceli who is super nice and helpful. Free two hour parking in the parking garage behind the shop.”
“They greeted me as soon as I came in
The store is amazing. It has 2 floors, although I got stuck right away at the Display case with jewelry inside. The trend here is 70s, and earlier.Although i've seen some amazing pieces inside, they are a bit pricey. Upstairs, you can see a sale rack, full of unique and different pieces. They do purchase clothes if you're cleaning your closet out. They also purchase jewelry. Very selective though. Not all that organized , but very good store. If you walk out of here without any purchase , I would be surprised. This place is definitely a hidden gem.ǰ”
“A very cute thrift store in Japantown! My partner and I have been a couple of times, and always leave with a couple of trinkets. They have a decent selection of Sanrio items, clothing, Smiskis, and Sonny Angels. They also have stickers and keychains from local creators. We’ll be back!”
“The ladies were friendly and knowledgeable. I found two vintage cut-glass glasses and a metal carnival horse. They had this cute purse made out of cork. I'm a wine drinker so I thought it was so cute. I want to make my own some day.”
“5/5 stars – I love Plato's Closet San Jose for its affordable prices, friendly staff, and great selection. The fitting rooms are clean and spacious, making it easy to try on the unique finds. I also appreciated being able to sell my own clothes quickly and get fair cash. This thrift store feels like a hidden treasure with constantly fresh secondhand clothing. Highly recommend!”
“i found SO many good pieces of clothing here, all super reasonably priced and they were having a 50% off sale on some items too ? Gus was super helpful and kind!!”

“Nice spot for watching movies, staff is kinda lazy and talk really low and lazy. They don’t give good direction when it comes to sending you to certain screens”
“I was there on Jan 23, around 11:30 there was a lady wearing glasses she was really nice she went through every single piece of clothing I had, and checked everything, I really appreciate that, I had a trip there where one girl just opened my bin and see from the top but didn’t get anything out, but this lady was so professional checked everything and fast she works hard, and also other girl at the register so nice and sweet, I don’t know their names, but they were so nice, I got some items back but still made great money and I got a brand new dooney and a Tory, very happy.”
“Pretty solid selection that updates semi frequently. The price to pieces ratio here is good. Expect to pay around 15 for a shirt. Was happy with my first haul so I came back for more 😛”
“A hyperlocal hipster blend of Japantown pride, cool Bay Area finds (like Unami Mart goodies), "were you there?" vintage, and even handcrafted goods from the local senior center. Perfect shop to have next to the Moment / SJMade store a different look but the same local vibe. Oh the shop owner is super nice and laid back, might even offer you a coffee when you come in. And they just celebrated 1 year, so go show them some love!”
