I leased a vehicle from them almost 3 years ago. It completely died on me the Tuesday of Thanksgiving. It took on hour of phone calls, being put on hold, hung up on, and full voicemails before I was able to talk to someone. Turned out that my 45k 3yr lease no longer qualified for their 36k roadside assistance. Quote for a tow was $345 from SLO to SM. I asked if they had any loaner vehicles they told me no. When I called Weds to ask when they would be able to take a look at my vehicle they said maybe Friday. I reminded them that I was paying $60 a day for a rental car they didn't seem to care much. Now it's Friday and they just informed me that they wouldn't be able to look at it until next week.MAYBE Monday he says. So I'm in the hole $600 before they even look at it. When I asked if I could come by and get my uniform out of the vehicle because they were locked in before tow with the complete shutdown of car, the guy says he didn't know and wouldn't know how to do that and would call me back. I'm not holding my breath. I am also not going to get the new model through them like I had previously planned. These guys are the worst ever!!

Do not take your vehicle to community Volkswagen. The general manager named Rudy is an incompetent moron as is every service department technician. I took my beetle in for a recall. Took over an hour. I get my car back and all the warning lights are on my dashboard telling me I need a service and my tires are bad. I just had my car serviced and tires checked at a reputable place here in Santa Maria because I do not trust community Volkswagen. Then my windows are supposed to seal when the door/doors are closed. That did not work. The moron general manager tried to tell me I'd have to make an appointment for them to fix that. WTH?? They just did that so I demanded that they fix it right then and there. If you read this Rudy or John or mark bachman, your service department is the worst ever and I will never take my car to you or buy another vehicle from your dealership. You need to get rid of your general manager Rudy. The short man who wishes he was a big man. Nothing but an incompetent moron. Rotten service. Unprofessional. Your dealership has gone so far downhill I'm embarrassed for you.

They were to program a new car key for $130. After a couple of hours ( and I am the only one there so they were not busy.) I have to ask them what is taking so long? They couldn't do it but still charged me the $130! What a waste of time and money.

Had an amazing buying experience with Community VW! Xavier and Matthew were awesome to deal with. Xavier let me know that the car I was interested in had just got off the truck from transport, we arranged to get down to the dealership that night to test drive it to see if that was the route we wanted to go. Wound up closing on a deal that night. They stayed after hours to finish up paperwork without hesitation. Couldn’t be happier with their customer service and my brand new Atlas Cross Sport!!

Very bad service, plus trying to cheat. We brought our Jetta for service and check the engine light.First, the guy tried to convince us to sell him the car (lease is ending in a few months) and pay us $1,000 as a "favor". The car KBB value is more than $10,000 above the residual price we have to pay to get the car! So pretty much trying to take advantage of people who are not proficient enough in leasing. First strike, the guy tried to cheat us of about $9,000 and telling us it's a favor. Then they charged us for inspection even though it's supposed to be a warranty fix. Another dealership said this will be covered under warranty but they are trying to constantly get more money out of you.Maybe it's because they don't have a lot of competition - i would advise everybody to stay away if you value your time, money and patience.

Always a pleasure to bring my vehicle here for service. I drive an hour to visit them, and I have found staff to be responsive, professional, and flexible.

I made an appointment through your website. I received an appointment confirmation email. When I arrived at the dealership for my appointment later in the week, there was no record of my appointment. But it also let me set my appointment for the technicians lunch hour so I would’ve had to wait 2 hours for an oil change. Additionally, I ended up not getting the service done, because the oil change was $175 for my GTI instead of the listed $79 from online where I made my appointment.

I deleted the original review because the GM finally got in touch with me but sadly nothing has been done to fix any of the mistakes here because he told me the tech is at training. Nothing has been addressed since he emailed me on the 17th of Aug. It is now the 30th and its been 95 degrees out and my air conditioner does not work. These issues were all supposed to be addressed during my week warranty which i was EXTREMELY CLEAR ABOUT and repeated multiple times. I have attached the codes I personally pulled from my Diag computer at home. Hugo was told to fix everything on this list of trouble codes (excluding the key battery and a couple other codes that were not relevant). Now the warranty has ended, they did not fix anything properly aside from a radiator replacement and they told me I would have to pay them 1900 dollars to fix these issues. (see attached photos). They were supposed to replace a tweeter and they replaced the wrong speaker. multiple P-codes still active after i sent Hugo and printed him out the exact codes i want fixed, i even highlighted them. I made it clear that this is all from a warranty and i want everything fixed. He kept saying it will be a diag fee for every different code i listed. I told him literally 10 times just fix everything it will be paid for by another company. There is no emphasis on correcting mistakes clearly. Sadly this is what these large corporate businesses do in the community. I want VW to take my car back into service and fix it as I originally asked. I also should NOT be forced to pay out of pocket since this was clearly the fault of the business.Until then, be aware of the work done at VW. I cant tell if there is a scam going on or if i am genuinely this unlucky.Ill delete this if the situation is handled fairly but I see no evidence of anything actually being taken care of. Also, what does it say about your products if an air conditioner starts failing at 40k miles or 4 thousand miles outside the factory warranty. Also, I always ask not to have their complimentary car wash (I don't like when randoms wash my cars because of the imminent swirls on the paint) the last visit I was told normally we do a free wash but I don't think we can today due to (idk something), I replied with "that's fine I don't want it washed." I just buffed, polished and sealed it since I just bought it. well, the car got washed, luckily not a ton of swirls.

Where do I even start, I should have read these reviews before going here. I purchased a vehicle on 6/4/2023. It is my first electric vehicle. Mind you I decided to get an electric car to save on gas and Maintenace. I factored all this into my car payment and budget. So, the salesman was great had me in and out in my new car within 45 min. Little did I know... I had it for 10 DAYS and the battery system had issues so I dropped it off. IT HAS BEEN THERE FOR TWO MONTHS! WITH NO ETA ON WHEN I WILL GET IT BACK! It has been like pulling teeth to get any updates from their service center when I do they are lost, brief, and clueless. They provided me with a gas loaner and instructed me to submit for reimbursement on any gas cost I acquired. After 2 month and almost $500 spent in gas along with still paying a $700 car payment I have been informed that request is DENIED. I have now been pushed to corporate to get a buy back. Corporate so far has been responsive but I am so stressed and frustrated. I do not know if they will give me a solution to this LEMON CAR. I am just so tired of being given the run around by management in all departments at Santa Maria VW. I tried working with them to do a trade in and sad to say they only look out for the company's best interest and not losing money no empathy for the customer. I truly wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so I went in picked another car significantly cheaper and the quote they came at me with was a car payment $15 cheaper than the one I have and warning me that I will have to pay the tax credit given for the electric car. They did nothing for us. NO HELP. I honestly feel violated by them. They have just jerked me around and because I have stayed quiet and allowed the behavior, they seem to believe they are getting one over on me and that I am so uneducated on the matter that they can just screw me over. I hope corporate comes through and see's the bigger picture. DO NOT BUY AT VW OF SANTA MARIA.

We were on vacation and needed immediate help with passenger seat being locked in an unusable position. Called in morning, they scheduled as for after lunch and fixed it in minutes. Everyone was so professional, kind and thoughtful. Can not express our gratitude adequately! Wished we lived in area as this dealership would be our place for sales & service all of the time.

I find community Volkswagen to always have sub-service. It starts with the $179.00 fee for diagnosing customer's cars. This should be FREE in my opinion. Setting this fee is very off-putting to customers who already know they are paying a premium for parts and labor by coming to the dealership. Also, the employees seem unhappy which means that management is not leading affectively. Perhaps it is time to take a look at why the employees are so miserable.

Im in the auto industry. I didn’t expect I would have such a good experience taking a car to the dealer ( I usually work on my own cars) but I Went to the service department to get a software update and a once over on my fiancés vw. They went above and beyond taking care of everything. Super friendly staff and I would highly recommend. it’s nice to deal with people that are honest and professional.
