Post office is extorting money from their customers with postage due notices. Apparently books do not qualify as media mail in Santa Maria. They open the package admit it is a book but still charge postage due.

They keep sending our mail to the wrong addresses, and it is important mail, such as letters from the superior court, supplies I need for my job, financial aide reimbursements.
And they deliver other people’s mail to our house too.
Also, if you need to renew your passport and can do it online, I recommend you do that.
I made the mistake of thinking I would get better customer service and assistance in person.
You are better off dealing with the website.
It would have saved me time and frustration.
I always have to ground myself after leaving this place, so much bad energy in there.
If you need to go in person, make sure you eat before or take a snack because you will be there for a while….

Waited in line for over 20 minutes and the line did not move at all. Only two cashiers who work at a snails pace. Do not go during the day. Worst experience I've had anywhere. Would give it zero stars if I could. Edit.
I got a letter today saying that they tried delivering my package and they couldn't. Mind you, we have camera's around my house and not once did we see anyone from usps attempt to deliver a thing. Oh, and the letter had been dated last week but only arrived on the last day available for pick up. I don't know what happened but this has been a terrible experience all around. Will never use usps for anything from this point forward. Bunch of lazy, angry, and intolerable workers from the office to the delivery drivers.

What in the world is up with usps, ESPECIALLY THEIR PPL THAT WORK FOR THEM ALWAYS OPENING UP OUR PACKAGE 📦 THIS SHOULDNT BE ACCEPTABLE YA'LL SHOULDN'T BE LETTING THOSE TYPE OF PPL TO WORK FOR YA'LL , THAT HUMAN IS JUST MAKING THE USPS LOOK WRONG , !!! YA'LL CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BUT YA'LL JUST KEEP HAVING MESSED UP PPL WORKING FOR YOU !!! THAT IS NOT RIGHT !!!

The woman that handles passports is very nice & extremely knowledgeable. She was so nice to us when I forgot a piece of information. I didn't have to rebook my appointment . Thank you so much!

Thank you for NOT alerting the street, your office suspended mail service to, due to a supposed dog attack, that they can pick up a key for this horribly located mail slot kiosk. The kiosk you set up is in a dead end, off any given path and a suspect location, where graffiti is known to be done. UNSAFE. Ridiculous location.
Now I have to worry about my own safety to do the job the postal service will not.
And educate your staff on basic customer service, to where I was talked down to about picking up this key, am I supposed to mind read? Telling someone, your mail's in a box, is unacceptable. I had no idea what she was talking about rudely. And I was just there 3 days prior to pick up mail that was given to me, no notice of this key.
Update 06062025
Postal carrier shows up at 6:10pm, Friday, to shove mail in our front door slot, which is not used for mail. Plastic tote right on front porch for mail. This carrier felt it okay to open our screen door and proceed to violently shove one piece of junk mail through the slot. He could have just rang the doorbell. Our service is supposedly suspended on our street for loose dogs. No communication from local post office. They do as they please.

Mail suspended for the third or fourth time due to dogs supposedly being loose or attacking carriers. No alert saying service is suspended or if or when it will be restored.
No solutions given or education.
Just the run around. Per usual. Local office needs new managers who care about their community.

Terrible. Our box was broken into. Can't get anyone to answer the phone. Went to Service them 3 timed and Noone would talk to me. Horrible

post office lost a package and wont take claim. The post offices themself put my package into someone elses Po box and now they wont take responsibility and refund me my money.

Had my mail held back in Jan 2025 with a delivery of Feb 8 2025 and still have not received it by Feb 18. Talked to mailman a week ago and was told he has it but too busy to deliver it!!! Meanwhile, my debit card, credit card and a check are all in that mail! Can't contact anyone by phone!@!

This place hires the worse people ever. Every other day I watch my mailman walk past my house when I'm expecting mail and not deliver it. I know I have mail it literally emails me everyday been waiting for a package for 3 days now and he refuses to deliver it.
