“Coach Maya had the class super motivated and was so welcoming for this newcomer. Workout was so amazing that I came back the next day (though I was super sore). Bonus points because her workout soundtrack took me back...80s baby here. Purchased 30 classes. See you there!”

“I’ve been training at Allegiate for the past 2.5 years, and it has truly been one of the best investments I’ve ever made in my health, and I don't say that lightly.
Before Allegiate, my strength training experience was basically nonexistent. I mostly relied on Pilates and long walks. I always wanted to build muscle and get stronger, but I had no idea where to start. Programming workouts, figuring out exercises, sets, reps..it all felt overwhelming and intimidating.
A friend who works in athletics at UCLA recommended Allegiate, so I decided to give it a try. I started with personal training for the first 6 months..then moved into Strength Class, and after about a year of Strength Class, I moved into the advanced Team Class.
The progress I’ve made since then has honestly been life-changing. When I started, I couldn’t do a single pull-up. Now I can do four. I struggled to do 1-2 push-ups, now I can do 10+. I couldn’t deadlift even half my bodyweight, and now I’m lifting 1.7x my bodyweight. Seeing those kinds of gains over time has completely changed how confident and capable I feel.
What sets Allegiate apart, especially in LA, is that it’s not flashy or focused on aesthetics or “influencer” culture. It’s about the fundamentals: smart programming, proper form, and getting stronger in a sustainable way. You don’t have to figure anything out on your own. You just show up, follow the program, and get coached.
The coaching is incredible. Every coach knows you by name, explains the “why” behind what you’re doing, and makes strength training approachable instead of intimidating. I’ve learned so much, and I’ve built real relationships here, people I call my friends. The community is just as special. Classes feel like training with the same group of people each week..it’s supportive, consistent, and feels more like a team than a typical gym.
Allegiate taught me that fitness doesn’t have to be complicated..stick to the basics, stay consistent, and results come. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been, and I can’t recommend this place enough.”

“I found AMP about 7 months ago and genuinely couldn’t love this place more. The community of people who come in every single day and just get after it has been truly inspiring, especially in a world filled with people are always looking for short cuts. You will be pushed here no doubt, I get humbled every single time I step through the doors (in the best way). I couldn’t recommend AMP more for those who want a community based around genuine desire to improve as people and as athletes.”
“Oak Park LA is the gym I’ve been looking for my entire life. I’ve been a member for 1.5 years and can’t speak highly enough about the quality of the coaches, programming, and facility. I’d been a member at 2-3 other CrossFit gyms in other cities and kept getting injured due to improper form and going too hard too often. Oak Park LA coaches have helped me improve on the fundamentals, identify opportunities for individualized growth, and discern when to push myself versus taking it easy. The intentionality + philosophy behind the coaching is unparalleled and I’m grateful to be a part of the community.
The sauna + cold plunge is also a huge perk of being a member here :)
If you’re looking for intentional growth as an athlete and human Oak Park LA is the gym for you.”

“The trainers are all first class, the classes and conditioning are tremendous., The trainers offer tips for improving in classes emphasizing the proper and correct techniques. But more importantly, all the trainers have a genuine interest in everyone improving, succeeding and enjoying the process.”
“I love this studio. I practiced there for years in its former space on Barrington with Jay and Diane, and followed them out to Ocean Park. It is a grounded, well run studio with terrific and kind teachers and students. No pretense. Space for everyone. By far my favorite studio in LA - and I’ve trained at a lot of them over the past 15 years.”

“I normally go to more traditional gyms, and do pretty standard lifting. However by chance I walked past Basecamp Fitness and I am very glad I did. The workouts are tough, but great, and the staff there are so helpful and friendly, explaining everything clearly and making you feel like you are part of the team. I would recommend this gym for all, even if you don't normally do these types of workouts, give it a go!”

“I have loved coming to the Santa Monica Studio! The sessions are well organized, the studio is clean, and the trainers are all very friendly and encouraging. Their membership pricing is more than reasonable with multiple convenient options, which is part of the reason I also chose Santa Monica as my first F45 studio. There is also convenient parking — including free street parking just a few blocks away. Would absolutely recommend!”
“Awesome studio! Was visiting LA for the week, and took Erick's class. Class was so good, I ended up going 3x's in the week! Great playlist, great motivation, great teaching!”

“Bernard- he’s one of the best trainers I have ever had - The class is not only challenging, he pays attention to our form and gives great instruction on what to do. He has a positive attitude and a great playlist.”
“I've been going here a lot over the past year and there are many reasons for it: the workout always challenges me and the trainers also know how to push us, they give individualized attention while looking out for the whole group, everyone is so friendly and kind, even when the workouts are tough (particularly on wednesdays and sundays) they will still make you laugh and motivate you to push til the end. Training Mate is great for physical health and because its so fun and welcoming, its great for mental health too! No one at this gym is pretentious and everyone is cheering one another on - at every level. From the front desk staff to the trainers, literally any and every day of the week. Pro tip: If you like less busy then come at 8am or 9:30. If you want slightly less intensity come in the evenings.”
“Rudy and Jenny are the heart and soul of the place. They're incredibly knowledgeable, but it’s their warmth, intuition, and encouragement that really set them apart. Every workout feels personal—like it’s designed just for you, your body, and where you’re at.
I actually look forward to working out. I feel stronger, I move better, and I just feel better overall.
. I always leave feeling happy, energized , and uplifted.”

“Jason is great and my pro trainer, David, that Jason set me up with is technique, form, success and safety perfection. You get to choose to Train at Gold's in Venice with the muscle crew or in a SaMo or L.A. gym or at home. Highly recommend.”

“One of the best workouts in Santa Monica. Also easily one of my favorites. Everyone you’ll encounter at Gloveworx is amazing.I absolutely recommend this place to anyone regardless of your fitness level. Class sizes are small so you won’t get lost in the shuffle. They’re also great at catering the workout to each individual.”
“Great place to workout if you’re visiting Santa Monica! Single day passes are $35 but you can get a great workout in because there’s plenty of equipment/weights and it’s not crowded. Also open decent hours on Sunday!”
“This gym ranks at the very top in terms of convenience. The machines are all in close proximity and there is an additional outside section, which is great when the weather is warm.”
“Great environment. Different type gym in that all located closely together, but not bunched together, for quick access. The gym includes outdoor spinning classes with a wonderful trainer and cool music. Highly recommended the gym. It's also clean, management and ALL staff are with it!”

“Mike is an amazing trainer; he’s kind, encouraging and gets to know the client’s needs and desires. Definitely choose him if you’re intimidated by the stereotypical body builder personal trainer, he’s a normal guy but also an expert, and will help you find inner strength you never knew you had.”
“I took Natasha’s 5pm class on Wednesday and it was awesome! She has such good energy, great cues that made me adjust and feel the burn more. It was a great way to end my night!”
