Terrible place. Will never go back. Made an appointment for 2 tires and alignment. I assumed an hour would be how long they needed. I was treated by their front office person. She looked at my car, quoted me the price and told me they needed 2 hours. So I left to go to a Starbucks. Closest one with seating and wifi is on Ocean Park. Came back 2 hours later. My car was on a lift and NO work had been done. I ask about my car. She says, " did you know you have wheel locks? We need the key." I reply "yes. Should be in the glove box. You didn't call to ask?" She says, " I was just told." "Go look." Then gets busy with someone on the phone. Finally gets back to me and tells one of the mechanics to let me look. I reach in and grab the key. He walks away and ignores me. I finally ask another mechanic to let me take my car. I left. Worst experience ever.

Most honest, hard-working mechanic team I have ever known. Pep Boys in Pico, Sta Monica are hard to match. Big thanks!

This repair shop is the worst one I have ever seen. Treatment from their employees is way less than human. Basically after taking the car twice they said they could not repair it, and they declined my request to talk to the insurance so they can process my claim out of network. The person who claims to be the "manager" named George was far from respectful on the phone. Unfortunately because this is my daughter's car, she had to deal with all this situation and they ALWAYS took advantage of a young woman. I would not recommend it at all, they are also always trying to sell repairs that you don't need.

This place straight up tried to scam my 70 year old mother. One of her tires was a little low on air. They told her she needed all 4 new replaced. Charged her $1600 immediately before doing any work. legitimate mechanics give you an estimate, do the work and charge you when it’s ready. My sister came to her rescue before they did any work and refused to refund the money. With zero work done! Had to dispute the charge with the bank.Literally went around the corner a legitimate tire shop and got charged $70 for a patch. $70 vs $1600. Stay away from this place. Check their reviews on Yelp. Lots of complaints

Extremely Rude and Unethical. My 70 year old mother brought in a vehicle with a nail in the tire tread. They told her the tire couldn't be repaired, that the vehicle was unsafe and that she needed a whole new set of new tires. After they successfully scared her, they charged her nearly $1,700.00 for new tires. Luckily she called her children after being tricked into an unnecessary purchase, and we promptly went and took the car back before work began. We took the car a short distance away to a tire shop, who told us our tires were absolutely fine and proceeded to patch the tire for $40.00. Now they are refusing to reverse the $1,700.00 transaction, stating it needs corporate approval and we have to wait 4 weeks to receive a check. First, they trick a senior citizen into paying $1,700.00 for a $40 problem. Now they are being spiteful and making us wait for our refund since we didn't fall for their dishonest, unethical practices. On top of that, they were extremely rude to us the entire time. Believe the bad reviews on this page, this place has terrible customer service and is not to be trusted. I will never take a car to this Pep Boys again and I recommend you stay away also.

Whether it is new tires or oil changes, this pep boys on Pico always provides excellent service. It starts with George. George is there to greet you and takes all of the anxiety away when my wife and I service our cars. Reliable , responsible and honest. Keep up the great work.

I set a 3 o clock appointment for a simple oil change. It’s been over two hours since the car has been in their service (and counting). When asked about the progress of this insanely long oil change I was met with the most unpleasant customer service. Overall don’t go here, setting appointments doesn’t matter. Either way you’ll have to wait. Might as well wait in a place that makes you feel welcome.

Very professional group at the Pico location. I brought the van in on Friday and the brakes were repaired by Monday. Awesome!

To begin with, I booked an appointment through CarAdvise to get my FRONT break pads replaced. I arrived at 3:00 PM, on time, and after a few minutes pass, they take my car for a complementary break inspection (AWESOME!!!) It's 3:57 PM, I finally get a text from CarAdvise to approve the work needed. As it turns out, the shop quoted me for all four break pads and rotors. At this point, I'm annoyed because the whole purpose of doing these things through the app is to communicate what I need and hopefully save time. So far, that's not the case. It's now 4:47 PM, and I finally get the quote for only the FRONT break pads and rotors. It is 5:20 PM, I'm sitting in the waiting area. I get up to see where my car is; it is still just sitting there. No one is working on on my car. In addition, I feel the attitude from the people who work here. I don't know if it's because I'm using CarAdvise, but it seems to be an inconvenience to them, but why would that matter? If the company you work for decides to go into a deal with other service providers, what's it to you? I'm still paying and doing the other things the "regular" customer does. Anyways, I'm already hating the whole experience. Thinking; I should have gone to the Jiffy Lube by my house. They quoted me $460 for the FRONT & REAR break pads/rotors. I'm paying $357 for the ONLY the front break pads & rotors. Not really SAVING any money here. In conclusion, I will not be using Pep Boys or CarAdvsie. It's time consuming and too expensive. You really don't end up saving much of anything. I would advise to look for other opportunities. It's 5:45 PM, and I'm still waiting for my car. At Jiffy Lube, I would have been in and out. I feel like they're making me wait for their enjoyment and carelessness. Update: I am still waiting for my car in their waiting area. It's 7:26 PM, and not one person has had the audacity to communicate what's going on, why it's taking long, etc. I do Uber Eats in the evenings, and this has taken so much of my time from being able to make money. Honestly, it feels like a HUGE disrespect of my time and money. Your LABOR cost is high; you probably expect customers not to say anything and go about their day. It's really a shame to be honest! However, like most companies now days, they don't care and probably aren't going to find a way to change that. Seriously! trust the reviews on yelp and find another place. Paying a little more at the dealership or their competitors, may save you a lot of TIME! That is something businesses cannot give you back.
