I have to say, as far as Targets go, this one is probably my least favorite, but it is extremely convenient to where I live. Some times when I come in the experience is decent (usually in the morning / day), and other times I have to dodge between a homeless person who is lost wandering the store aisles. Some times there's security and some times not, but I do feel somewhat better when security is around. I've purposefully waited on writing a review earlier because each time I come into the store send to flip flop the previous experience. Lots of product is locked up, which I'm not sure how I feel about. At first I thought items were locked up due to the DTSM location, but I've been to a Target in Encino where a bunch of stuff was also locked up, too. Maybe it's a change from all that has happened with COVID, but sometimes a person quickly responds to help open the cage and other times it takes a few tries. When I first moved to the area and started shopping here there was no organization to how people lined up for the self-check out versus cashiers line. Now they have a sign at one end of the check out area so it's a little better, but I think some people still get confused. And sometimes people enter the check out from the other end (where there is no sign), either unaware or don't care to get in line at the correct end. Some of the cashiers you can tell don't really care. They are there to bag up your stuff and keep it moving, which I get. It's a Target of all places, but I've bought alcohol here and the guy was not interested in checking ID, which is always required regardless of how old or young someone may look. When I came back another time, a different guy was much more engaged and did request to see ID so it seems to be a missed bag. I'm trying to do my best to come in during the day, but sometimes it's unavoidable.

They lock up pretty much everything, which I get and totally understand. But when you page for someone to open it, nobody ever comes. All the employees care about are putting things back so they can go home as soon as the store closes. Store is well stocked and had the essentials

Wonderful check out service one day, terrible service the next. Last experience was for a pick up order and the person COULD NOT BOTHER to look at me when handing me my package, flirting with her co-worker instead. Amazon delivery is nicer!

I still feel like it's always a little more expensive over here, but the convenience of location (right next to the Metro station) is just really, really great to have.

So grateful this store is located where it is. We were visiting and needed some stuff. Boom! Right across the street!

To small, too many homeless and people stealing there. Security doesn't do things. Everything is locked up really I had to go 3 different sales to get copy paper unlocked.

Update on previous review. Make matters worse. I opened the product to find one of two items missing, and case a little scuffed. Went to closer Target to return it and at first they weren't going to allow me to return it because the serial numbers on product didn't match serial numbers in box.I made a stink about it and manager allowed me a refund. I'm peeved at this SM Target because to me it looks like there are some shady workers here. When a customer returns expensive product they're supposed to check if serial numbers match and I'm pretty sure that you don't resell such product. This sounds like an employee swapped the new product with their defective product (scuffed and missing an item) and allowed it to be sold. I wasn't going to be their sucker and will report it to the store manager.

The most aggressive, angry, in your face, bully security guards you will ever encounter. The guards habitually assault and pepper spray people. The main bully security guard is named NICK, he uses various fake aliases but his real name is Nick. He is a white male, sleeve tatoos on both arms, short black hair and blue eyes. He will threaten you with assault. The entire time I was shopping he followed me. Bottom line you if you are a minority you are guilty of a crime to the security guards. The store is small and lacks variety. One of the smallest targets I have ever been in. You will be unwelcome and uncomfortable the moment you step foot in the store. If you are a minority you are going to be racially profiled, as i was. The staff is extremely rude and defensive. The checkout lines are always long. No parking available. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this store.

Service was very very very slow. The lines are nit organized and seemed like any of the employees cared for anything whats going on.

I'm giving this target a 5 stars in solidarity with the employees that work here that have to put up with what goes on. I go to this Target probably every other day and it's rampant with homeless and mentally ill people that just grab things, steal, and eat cereal out of boxes right in the isle way. I will not be surprised if this location shuts down. And to all the people complaining about no bathrooms... It's because of the amount of homeless, which is pretty common to not have open bathroom access in the area. Just go to 3rd street and use a public bathroom at the mall.

The staff working here is super unhelpful, they turn us into unofficial employees they EXPECT US to do a cashiers job. I don’t like it when stores do that…
