The Farms Deli and Meat Counter is a great little independent grocery store and neighborhood market on Montana Ave in Santa Monica. It is a clean, tiny spot filled with hardworking and super friendly people who provide great customer service. The store is a fine place for freshly made sandwiches, which are solid, very reasonably priced, and considered by some to be the best in town. The deli case offers close to 20 cooked items like excellent beef stew, very good lasagna, chili, meatloaf, ribs, chicken, mac 'n cheese, and soup. It also includes about a dozen salads. The weekend barbecue is a standout, with select grilled meats like prime steaks, tri tip, and chicken available on Saturdays and Sundays. Other highlights include delicious Oaxacan tamales chock full of chicken mole, homemade burritos stuffed to the gills, and terrific pre-orders for holidays. The butcher section has fresh, restaurant-quality meat and seafood. The market also carries fresh vegetables, premade salads, a fantastic wine selection, great coffee, flowers, and cards. It is a dog-friendly location with free parking in back, making it a perfect spot for a meal to go and a blessing for the neighborhood.
Wonderful store. Service like it was 1950. Such friendly people who get to know you. Although it is a small store, they always seem to have what I need.

We love visiting the The Farms Deli and Meat Counter! This is a clean, well-organized and well-stocked grocery store in the neighborhood. Highly recommend stopping in for snacks, beverages or other grocery items.

I came here for a tuna sandwich on my way to the beach. It was perfect! This is just a great little grocery store; support it! Having an independent grocery store is such a blessing these days!
