“At the age of 13 I fell in love with a car at the Annual New Car Show in San Francisco. I wish it was a Ford or a Fiat.... or some such normal vehicle, but my taste at the age of 13 was for none other than the most elegant and beautiful car I had ever seen, a Rolls-Royce. I would eventually start riding my bike, at the age of 13, miles to the Rolls-Royce showroom on Van Ness in SF (British Motor Car) just to press my face against the glass to admire the beauty of a Rolls-Royce.Now, 45 full years later, as I started retirement, I was nothing but blessed to find Grant's beautiful, elegant, stunning Black/Tan 1989 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit with a custom top...After flying to LAX to see the stunningly beautiful car, I found myself giggling like a 13 year old. The interior leather and wood were like new, the car had never been driven in the rain, the rubber seals were soft and pliant, and it also mechanically checked out , as an 8/10 with the independent RR mechanic I hired to review the car.The issue was that the car had no paperwork history at 35,000 miles , so I have to assume the cost of deferred maintenance. Hence I adjusted and told Grant I am willing to invest reasonable amounts of money for standard maintenance issues that were previously ignored, but I can't spend huge sums into repairing it if it is fundamentally unsound. Grant confirmed that the car was fundamentally sound.I am ecstatic to say, that after keeping within my budget of an additional 16k$ on maintenance/upkeep on new brake rotors, brake pads, bearings, window motors, water pump, I have put 20k leisurely miles on it. I still thank Grant for making my boy hood dream come true. It hums , is whisper quiet, full of torque, completely vibrationless, 34 years old and drives cooler and better at 70MPH than at 35MPH. A Rolls-Royce was never an ego driven, ostentatious, power move to me, it was always simply 'the most beautifully aesthetic car I have ever seen, at the age of 13' .If it weren't for Grant, and the fact that the car is indeed a solid, beautiful car I would have never thought I could and actually would achieve my dream.I continue to maintain the car because I would like to give it to my grandson.Thank-you again Grant.”
