Terrible experience, got a reservation at 2pm, got there at 1:30pm and made ya wait, at 2:15pm car was still not ready and the ladies were being very rude and when they were told in a good manner that they were being very rude they decided not to give us the car and didn’t get reimbursement either. Worst experience I’ve had with a car rental, I do not recommend dealing with rude people

I vote this joint the worst rental desk in the USA. They can take your booking, they can hold your booking, but when you arrive, they do not have a car for you unless you give them another $150 per day.

It's one of those times where you thought you were on your vacation. On your way to visit a relative that you hadn't seen for to long. Than you car breaks down.. So, your still going . But in a Rental, You'll come back this way drop off your rental and your car was fix while you were gone. But, which 'Rental' Company do you choose. I was lucky enough to be next to an airport.As all know, Airports give you a variety of rental companies.First and cheapest was Enterprise, but you couldn't use cash or debit. Just a credit card. 'A' credit. Only one. So, you had better have a good amount to use.Second, Budget, same as above. But more expensive.Third, Hertz. Same as the first and second. But Evan more so.Fourth, on break. So, we scooted on over to Ace. Thank the Dear Lord for the nice gentleman behind the counter. Yes, you can use a debit card.When I asked how much, I thought I was about to cry and leave the airport without a car. But, Evan though it sounded at first more expensive the all the above. They didn't charge you for the milage. You could go and go and go. When you bring it back, make SURE it's with a full tank. They will charge you $20.00 a gallon to fill it up for youEnjoy your vacation. Use their vehicle.(Smiling)

Awful. Our flight was delayed by an hour. We get to the desk and they tell us that because we went through a third party site and didn’t call ahead about being delayed, they had to give our car away. The reason they stated was because “they have a 33% no show rate so just assumed we weren’t going to show up”. Didn’t apologize for this, basically told us it was our fault. What a joke.Shoutout to Avis/Budget who saw that we were stranded and figured out how to get us a car.

I will not rent Hertz car from this airport. Super long line, one person helping people while other car rental agencies have no line. They take forever and we waited for 55 minutes for a car. Wow! My picture doesn't lie. Do not rent Hertz from here. Choose Avis, enterprise, budget or national car rental. Never again.

BEWARE: if you have a 6pm reservation, you just arrive BEFORE 6. If you arrive at exactly 6pm they will not be able to check you in. The system won’t allow it according to the desk staff.

0 stars-- TERRIBLE1. If you have a 6pm reservation and arrive at 6pm the staff cannot check you in!! You must arrive before 6pm (and pray there's no line of people). The system does not allow it and staff cannot do anything about it. Crazy.2. Reservations aren't guaranteed. 3. Staff is completely unhelpful.

How can I put in a 0 star?! I should've read the reviews before booking. Our flight was delayed and they gave away our car and told us there were none left. When we politely inquired what solutions they could offer, they rudely said none. The manager was a complete tool incapable of managing anyone or any situation. He looked like he just rolled out of bed. He told us this was our problem and not his. I asked how he would feel if in our situation and he told me to have a good day. Unbelievable. Absolutely do not rent from Hertz at this location. Funny thing is that Hertz has been great everywhere else but Sonoma is the bottom of the barrel.

The worst most obnoxious company EVER! Flight arrived early. Could alter the reservation to get the car early even though the car is here. Charged $100 to cancel so we could get another companies car. Hertz is THE WORST

Absolutely terrible service. They were oversold and gave away our reservation without any notification. Found out when we showed up. We were told with a smile and zero attempt to remedy the situation that they had no cars. All other agencies were sold out as well leaving me and my wife stranded at the airport. The woman at the counter seemed to enjoy our predicament as if she wasn’t the direct cause

Oversold on vehicles and they didn't have one for me despite having a prepaid reservation and getting several separate confirmations from the front desk. They won't say your reservation is cancelled, just that there *might* be a vehicle later in the day that possibly might work. Lol. Only positive is the courtesy call (30 minutes before my pickup time) to tell me the bad news. The lady was nice in the message but very rude over the phone call when I called back.Moral of the story, Hertz makes NO GUARANTEES that the vehicle you reserve/pay for will be available, so only book if you're flexible with your plans or have a reliable backup.

Rented a clown car at Sonoma County Airport and it's over priced, smells like a dairy farm, and I couldn't leave because there was another car in front if it!! Poor customer service.

The car was dirty lot of pet hair, dirt and stain around the passenger trunk when I firstly sat in the car even though the company have a policy not allowing pet into the rental car.The staff was friendly and no force to get more charge. However, I got pending overcharge to my credit card which I was sure it’s not in the rental agreement.

Closed during the pandemic. Tried calling their number to get a quick, direct answer on if I could do a one-way/different dropoff rental-- hey, it's sometimes quicker to get someone to answer over the phone than having to navigate a website-- only to find the phone number constantly, annoyingly busy. Considering that most established companies these days will have multiple lines so that you don't have to deal with that sorta thing, I called their 800 number outta curiosity and their CSR confirmed that they were indeed shuttered/donezo.. . so guess I just wasted a bit of my time so that other would-be callers wouldn't potentially do the same? In any event, based on some of these other reviews I'm seeing, it's probably just as well/they weren't doing themselves any favors.
