Fresh Dungeness Crab Oliver's advertised fresh California Dungeness Crab On visiting the seafood section there was a nice display of crab on ice. Cooked, cleaned only, will not crack Upon purchasing 2 for dinner left the market After arriving home, opening the package it was clear the meat appeared a little dry. Cracked a few legs, noticed the meat did not look right. So; tasted the meat and discovered it was mealy and dry. One crab this way is an anomaly, 2 not a coincidence. Yep? So it went that - the second crab was worse yet. Mealy cooked crab can happen one or two ways; 1. the crab had been dead for awhile before cooking, and/or 2. it was overcooked. Immediately jumped in the car to return the crustaceans. Oliver's in the normal style refunded our money. But; the lady could not resist herself to say "these are fresh from Bodega Bay every day" -- somehow excusing the mushy foul taste under the shelled bodies. Lesson learned; always buy live crabs, cook, clean and crack them yourself. Live crabs are in season, easy to find currently at $6.99 a pound. Lesson #2; the market's fish monger should not allow this to happen. It's Oliver's and quality, as-far-as I can remember, is based on excellence. Lesson #3; the customer is always right Of course I/we'll return for other meats, produce... We love you Oliver's

What can you say about Olivers that you don't know already? Great and I mean great fruits and vegetables and mushrooms of all sorts. The prices are fair for the quality. Darn good chip selection along with an extensive meat department. Ohh, the cheese department is stellar and they can steer you to things that you never knew you were missing out on! I also like that there are are large group of regular employees who've been there for years, that speaks volumes

I appreciated the warmth and patience of Curtis in the Wellness department over the weekend. He was very knowledgeable and kind.

i go to Oliver's on my lunch break today, and grab some food and a Dr Pepper. when i get back to my work I open the soda and notice there are multiple ants in the drink in the cap; alive and dead. I'm disgusted go back to the store to get an exchange, the first woman I speak to was very polite and agreed that it was gross and told me to go grab a new one. when I grab a new one I pop it open to check and there are more ants in this drink then the second one. this is disgusting at this point. i see someone stocking the shelves in the aisle and ask them what's the deal with this and I let them know what's up with the drinks and ants. The guy responds with attitude and says " we'll ok... what do u want me to do about it" as if I'm the asshole. tells me it happens and it's all store bought and to just grab another one. if y'all are going to be charging people as much as u do for the same shit as everywhere else: with even shittier service then others i might add: then you could at least make sure there aren't bugs locked into your products, and then not be an asshole when someone has a problem with it. fuck off

I go to Oliver’s many times a day. Spending hundreds of dollars every month. One morning I was about to check out and saw some energy shots at the end of the aisle. I looked at the ingredients and put the shot back once I saw the second ingredient was coffee. I checked out, and all my items were ready to be bagged. This is when the cashier (short red hair) proceeded to ask me if I had “grabbed that energy shot”. Grabbed? I was confused because I already was paying. I remained poise and said, “If I had, it would be with all my other items”. This young woman did not ask this because she saw me steal. She asked me to belittle and embarrass me as if I took the item. Her tone was evident. Socioeconomic discrimination is real(I use EBT), and if Olivers does passive aggressively ask me if I took something again I will be taking legal action.

Yay Oliver's. What great stores they have. One of the first and best upscale grocery stores around. A full selection of wine and spirits that offers something for every occasion. With an incredible cheese shop right inside the store to pair with so many myriad wines it will feel like your at a specialty shop. The same can be said for their bakery. Some bakeries inside grocery stores are mediocre at best. But Oliver's Bakery is top notch. They do custom orders too. One year my family ordered a lemon curd cake for my birthday that was pure deliciousness for the eyes and palate. They have a fresh meat case with butchers, fresh seafood case and many in house freshly prepared choices to prepare at home. So many things I love about Oliver's but I will say their eclairs are the best I've had including stand alone French Bakeries. Tip: Wednesdays is seniors discount day. But be aware that it's pretty crowded on that day.

Love Oliver's Market! The food there is so good. Amazing vegetables, the meat area is excellent. The staff is knowledgeable and will ask you if you need help. The food the team makes is like going to a yummy restaurant. I often get their sushi. Thanks so much for the great service.

Just a note about the Health and Wellness person at the Montecito store who I ask about a certain vitamin supplement and was told they were out and if I wanted to order it I would have to order 3 and they were really expensive. Really? I went to the Windsor location and a very helpful person they had one in stock and if I needed to order another one I could, plus they would transfer it to the Montecito store. Very helpful young lady. Older people should be treated a kinder if they want their business

Ok. I want to preface that I LOVED this place before my bad experience today. And the only reason I am throwing out a one star is that I want management to know happened and how appalled I was at the woman behind the deli taking my order. She was rude, abrupt and in general just had a bad attitude that was completely noticeable. I can't believe it really, since every time I am there, people are always cheerful and ready to help and aim to please. I understand people have bad days, but in a customer facing business, you have to leave your bad day on the street. I know as I am a previous restaurant and bar owner. And I always emphasized to my staff...BE NICE. First and foremost. I hope management sees this, knows who I am talking about and let's her know. As this loyal customer just had an Uber sour experience and may not go back for a while.

I ordered a 1/2 trip tip and oysters today. Delicious and very fresh. I went inside and ordered a few pieces of coconut shrimp with scalloped potatoes. This is my go to market when I don't feel like cooking!

This is a fantastic market to get your specialty food items! They have a great international cheese selection which was quite impressive! And the cheese sommeliers there are truly knowledgeable about their cheeses. They also have a great wine selection (domestic and international). Their a fresh meat selection was good and also have ready to eat food items and a deli counter. This reminds me of the old Italian markets i used to visit frequently when i lived in New York City (although this is a much larger version of them). Everything here was quite impressive and most were a rare and or pleasant find. I felt the prices were reasonable as well.

Olivers has great Gluten-free desserts. This is one of the GF desserts they sell.
