“Snoopy’s Home Ice, officially known as the Redwood Empire Ice Arena, is a cherished Santa Rosa landmark that offers a magical and nostalgic experience for visitors of all ages. Whether you’re an avid skater, a Peanuts fan, or just looking for a fun outing, here’s what to expect from this iconic ice rink.
Atmosphere & Ambiance
The rink is famous for its storybook charm, thanks to the influence of Charles M. Schulz, the creator of Peanuts. From the alpine-style architecture to the whimsical Peanuts décor, the entire facility exudes warmth and playfulness. The ambiance feels both timeless and inviting, making it a unique spot in Sonoma County.
Ice Skating & Activities
Snoopy’s Home Ice is open year-round for public skating sessions. The ice is well maintained, and the rink provides skate rentals, lessons, and figure skating or hockey programs for all ages and skill levels. Special events, such as themed skate nights and holiday celebrations, add to the fun and draw a lively crowd.
Family-Friendliness
The rink is a favorite destination for families, birthday parties, and school groups. Staff members are friendly, patient, and great with kids—whether it’s helping them lace up skates or leading beginner skating lessons. The size of the rink allows for both novices and more experienced skaters to enjoy their time on the ice.
Amenities
Snoopy’s Home Ice is more than just a rink—it’s part of a larger complex that includes the Warm Puppy Café, serving hearty snacks and treats, and the Charles M. Schulz Museum next door. The café’s big windows overlook the ice, making it a cozy spot to relax and watch the skaters. There’s plenty of parking and clean restrooms, rounding out a convenient and enjoyable visit.
Community & Events
The rink hosts regular hockey games, figure skating competitions, and community events that foster a welcoming, inclusive spirit. The annual Snoopy’s Senior World Hockey Tournament is a highlight, attracting players and fans from around the world.
Areas for Improvement
As with any popular venue, public skate sessions can get crowded, especially on weekends and holidays. Arriving early or checking the schedule in advance is recommended. While the facility is well maintained, occasional updates to the locker rooms and rental skates would enhance the experience.
Conclusion
Snoopy’s Home Ice is a Sonoma County gem, blending nostalgia, fun, and community spirit in a one-of-a-kind setting. Whether you’re learning to skate, playing hockey, or soaking up the Peanuts-themed atmosphere, you’re sure to leave with a smile. It’s a must-visit for locals and visitors looking for a memorable and joyful experience in Santa Rosa.”

“The California Theatre is hands down the best small venue in town. I absolutely love this place. The space is beautiful, intimate, and perfectly set up for live performances of all kinds. But what really makes it special is the staff. They are incredible. Every single person who works here is warm, professional, and genuinely invested in creating great experiences for both performers and the community. You can tell they care deeply about supporting local arts and bringing people together. Sonoma County is lucky to have a venue like this. If you haven't been to a show here yet, you're missing out!”

“I’ve been here multiple times and I still want to go back! Service is always fantastic and the wines are great too. The sauvignon is my favorite, but the rose and pinot noir are great too. It’s more low-key than some other wineries I’ve been to, but sometimes that’s just what you need. Every time I’m in the area I try to make a visit.”

“Driving into Vinarosa I knew right away we had picked the right place. Gorgeous grounds. Lush garden vibe. So many different flowers and shrubs we could not name half of them. Beautiful colors and pleasant fragrance.

Service was first class. Professional and friendly.

There is a 1.1 mile trail through the vineyard that I took advantage of daily.

John Ash restaurant is farm to table. So Good!! ?

Highly recommend Vinarosa!!”

“Nice place for the kids and adults as well. Lifeguards are a little to much with their calls on kids but I guess you can't never be too safe. So be ready for a good amount of whistling while you are there.”

“We recently had our wedding at Fairview Valley of the Moon, and working with Vanessa was truly one of the best decisions we made in the entire planning process. From the very beginning, she guided us through every step organizing timelines, helping us stay on track, and making the whole experience feel smooth and stress-free. Her kindness, patience, and clear communication made such a difference. We loved attending the food tastings and getting to choose our cake flavors and menu options everything was delicious and the process was so much fun. On the wedding day itself, everything was super organized. Our guests kept telling us how seamless and well-run the entire day felt. The atmosphere was perfect, the space fit our guests beautifully, and having the bridal suite made getting ready so easy and comfortable. Our DJ, Steven, was absolutely amazing as well he kept the energy high all night and made the celebration so much fun for everyone. :) They also offer several beautiful ceremony background options, and we chose the mountain-view space it was absolutely stunning. Vanessa was incredible on the wedding day walking us through the ceremony lineup, making sure everyone knew when to walk, and keeping the flow so natural. She was so sweet and truly made us feel cared for. One of the biggest highlights for us was how affordable the full package was compared to planning everything separately. Fairview includes so many important pieces that would've been stressful and expensive to manage on our own. We also took advantage of their recommended vendors Opal (photographer & videographer her team Wing & Richie), Lisa (cake decorator), and Rose (officiant) and we are SO glad we did. Each one of them was amazing and absolutely worth it. Thank you, Fairview, for making our day so special. We honestly couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. We felt supported, relaxed, and able to just enjoy our celebration. We are super excited to see our photos and videos Highly, highly recommend :)”

“Called in about a trail ride earlier in the week for the weekend, and Dawn was able to squeeze us in. Little did I know that she was handling the clerical work, riding lesson, and the ride/tour from start-to-finish.

The horses are sweet and quirky, and very used to working with new riders. Between the horses and Dawn's guidance, my hesitation for actually getting to ride was gone in the thirty minute crash course.

Even as a complete newbie, they put you in charge of riding your horse and you are privileged with being in control and managing your place on the trail ride. The trust they give you even as someone completely new is empowering; just make sure you follow instructions!

A lot of their programs are geared towards younger people, but it's never too late to try something new. If you are at all nervous about trying something like this, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot!”
