“Love visiting this restore! Clean, organized, and really great selection! Honestly I found what I was looking for before I even walked inside. The owner said hello and told me she personally tested the swing before putting it out too. Will be back, thank you!”

“We have been going to Bad Madge for 5 years now and it is one of the best shops in San Diego! If you love vintage you need to check this store out. They have vintage furniture, clothing, glassware, tiki glasses, and plenty of new/vintage inspired items! Fantastic curation going on here and everything is beautifully arranged. We had been eyeing two chairs made by local South Park furniture maker Jose Eguez! These chairs are Caribbean Rosewood and they are perfect! Tanya helped us out with making our decision and delivered them today to our North Park condo. Tanya has impeccable customer service, her team who works at Bad Madge are also kind, welcoming, and helpful. We love these chairs! Cannot wait to have these chairs for years to come. The workmanship on these is so impressive. Before you buy from some mass produced furniture shop online try shopping local and support Bad Madge! The pricing is more than reasonable compared to pottery barn or crate and barrel. The winter South Park walkabout is coming up and let me tell you Christmas at Bad Madge is well worth checking out.”

“I mean, if I were a store, this would be me. It's so fun, definitely can't go in there without at least trying and/or buying something. A mix of old and new, vintage, pre-owned, handcrafted accessories, clothes, shoes, etc. It's a fun store for sure.”

“Trish and her mom Diana were the most lovely ladies to greet & welcome you into their awesome store! I entered their raffle to help Lahaina people effected by the fire, and ended up winning one of the coolest prizes! It was a basket full of Salon Sagrado products! Thanks again, and please go support this awesome shop!”

“This is a large store that is currently stocked full of everything Christmas (and a small section of Chanukah items), all made by hand! From Christmas ornaments, candles, Santa wish lists, wood tables, giant, outside Christmas lights and statues, they have everything for the holidays. Lots of employees inside, and Christmas music playing to get you really into the spirit. This is more than a store...it's a experience!”

“Great experience here. Cozy vintage corner tucked next to Lestats. I always feel it's a great collection when I browse. The buyers have great taste, the items all have their own sense of attitude and "retro," and the staff is consistently friendly and helpful. They always ask how are you and say hello when you come in.I walked in to buy a birthday card one day, and also grabbed a flyer on the counter about their monthly selling day, which was the following Sunday.I came back with 2 bags of my own clothes on said Sunday I've been meaning to get rid of, some of them already on apps for sale. The experience from check-in, the short waiting time which I enjoyed anyway browsing the store, and the value I got back for the items they picked was all really positive. You are able to choose between 30% cash back or 50% store credit for the value your items will be priced at by La Loupe. I was happy with this because I've been in stores that do a 20% / 40% ratio or even 20% / 30%. I ended up even finding 2 pairs of vintage Levi's jeans that were (finally) in my size, and they were not expensive either. These vintage jeans right now go from anywhere between $50-250 depending on their year, condition, etc and La Loupe's were definitely on the lowest end of that. OK bag em baybee! In addition to a colorful and fun assortment of vintage clothing they also carry new items from local brands: dainty gold jewelry, BAGGU bags, organic / clean beauty products, plant pots, candles, all the cute stuff for gifts from small businesses.Support small, reduce your carbon footprint, shop 2nd hand”

“Mike, the owner, is knowledgeable and friendly. I found an amber vase for my daughter-in-law. I'll be back next time I'm in San Diego. Maybe next time we visit, we'll also go to the La Mesa Friday afternoon farmers market!”

“Amazing dresses and even better customer service. My girlfriend was looking for a 1940’s dress and found the perfect one there at a reasonable price. They have a great selection of quality dresses from all eras!!!! We are definitely coming back soon! We also did not have an issue with the “handling” of the dresses. She was able to try on multiple “fragile” dresses with no issue.”

“Awesome little thrift shop! It's a little tucked in La Mesa but a must see for cute little gems. Great prices and great service. Definitely check it out if you're in the area. Found a wooden utensil holder for only $3!!”

“I don't know what it is with San Diego thrift stores or if it's just California. What is with the pricing!! It's ridiculous. This is the only store that has nice quality and thrift store priced items. Closest store I've found to a *GEM*. Definitely come to this store so many good things. Still a bit on the pricey side but not too bad.”

“It's a Goodwill. It's a small store but it is very well kept and clean. The staff are hit or miss in friendliness but hey, it's a Goodwill. They do have a great theft prevention policy, stand at the counter and yell "you're not welcome here!" but hey, it's a Goodwill. It's nice that it's not surrounded by crackheads but every now and then one will ask you to buy them an entire outfit, but hey, it's a Goodwill. For its size it has a good selection of everything and offers a good way to spend some time as you cruise through lovely downtown La Mesa.”

“A absolutely wonderful store. So many unique and reasonably priced items several of which are hand crafted. If you are in the area (or not!) a visit to this store is a must. It's a real treat and you will not be disappointed. In fact, as was the case for me, bet you leave with a fabulous item!”

“What a great find! My son and his friends stopped by here one weekend and loved it so I thought I should go check it out. Great hidden gem with lots of fun, vintage goods. Prices are reasonable, some is a little more expensive but it depends on the item and brand. We've scored some cool Disney stuff from the 90's and they have great retro sweaters and jackets. The employees are always super nice and welcoming from the time you enter the store to the time you exit. Of course it all depends on what they get in store but every time we have been we always end up finding something to bring home with us. Tucked away in a little strip mall in Scripps right off of the 15 Kickback is a must visit.”

“I've been meaning to visit this shop for awhile, and I'm happy to say it did not disappoint. The merchandising, selection, and pricing were good. The sales associates were friendly and helpful--one started a dressing room for me while I shopped. The store, dressing rooms, and merch were clean. I've already received compliments on one of my finds--I'll definitely be back!”

“I went in today not really looking for anything too specific, just wanting to browse and I found some gems. It was clean, organized and such a friendly environment. I would like to point out Elaine in particular she checked me out when I was done and she was so sweet and made my checkout a smooth and easy process!”

“This is a gem of a thrift store, nicely curated and well kept. The prices vary…some things are a little much for a charity store, but I’ve found some real treasures here. Faux trees that cost around $200 in Crate and Barrel are $25 here, books are plenteous and fairly priced, and there is a large and inexpensive range of home goods. Clothing prices are based on brand usually, and that is fair. I won’t stop recommending this little haven of wonders!”
