“Great place to find new plants and get supplies. It gets busy on weekends but the lines go by quickly and there's so much space, who can complain? All employees are helpful and regular customers are helpful and sociable about plants. Amazing selection here, some highlights have been the mushroom plant and aloe ferox as well as black calla lilies. Their prices are great! All the carts work well and everything is placed intuitively. If you call and ask about a product, they call back to let you know it's in stock.”

“We recently went to this HB location to buy some trees to plant at our house and are very happy with the plant quality and service they provide. We were greeted by Ronnie and he is so knowledgeable about all the plants we had questions on. He also gives us great advices and options for our budget and needs. Awesome customer service! So we went back to get more plants with Ronnie and long story short today is our planting day. Carmello and his team showed up early and got the job done in no time. They did a very good job and gave us great suggestions. We ended up buying more plants today to make our project completed. Highly recommend them if you have a landscape project and want high quality plants and awesome service and quality of work!”

“The staff here is so nice and helpful! I'm a beginning gardner (read: I have no idea what I'm doing) and the staff here has always been very patient and helpful, explaining what I'll need step by step and offering to help me diagnose problems with my plants. I recently came in after receiving a beautiful new pot for Christmas and I wanted to put a fun plant in it that was dog safe. Sara helped me find the perfect plant that wouldn't be too hard to take care of, was safe for my dog, and still fun looking. She was patient as I asked her a million questions and didn't hover over me when I said I'd have to think about things or look through options she had shown me. She was always close by so I could bombard her with more queries but I never felt pressured. In the end, I ended up getting a nice mandarin spider plant (which I didn't see as an option at the Sakioka nursery or Lowe's) and some funky purple moss (again - didn't see this anywhere else). This will definitely be my go-to garden place from now on. I really appreciate the staff not making me feel stupid as a beginner and taking the time to walk me through what is probably a very mundane project for them but is a huge undertaking for me. Thanks Sara (and others!).”

“I love going to this nursery every fee months. They have all sorts of stuff: veggies, succulents, shrubs, trees, etc. I just recently went to pick up some more ranunculus b/c the first 6 I got were beautiful but sadly, they were out. I put in a calendar reminder for next year b/c I love them so much! Over the years I've gotten petunias, daisies, alyssum, 2 flats of dymondia, calla lilies, butterfly bush, lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, zucchini, assortment of small succulents for an arrangement, bags of compost/dirt and wood chips, etc. They turnover plants quickly and it seems their selection is very seasonal. If you want veggies, make sure you walk all the way into the nursery b/c there are lots towards the back. But also be sure to walk through all the aisles b/c sometimes they have the herbs scattered throughout and sometimes plants at different maturities are in a different spot. If in doubt, ask one of the workers. Tip: you can drive your car into the nursery and park along the side. Please be considerate and leave enough space for other cars to pass you. Also, you can load your car up wherever you parked it and then drive it up to the gate, pop your trunk, have them calculate your total and pay. (note that they charge a convenience fee if you use a credit card)They may not have as many diff varietals like a specialty store but the prices are awesome. I ALWAYS come here first before going to Armstrong Garden Center (also excellent) or a big box store.”

“Home Depot is hands down my favored store of all time. And let’s be honest there’s not a bunch of Harvard graduates working there. As as soon as the CAT knives showed up on the Home Depot site I inquired with one of the sales associates and she replied “ kitty cat” Of course I was referring to the CAT - Caterpillar- heavy equipment operator company But they don’t carry the stores so I understand for her it’s not part of her required curriculum. I was looking for a replacement bulb for a lava lamp which are specialty bulbs ( of course they have to heat to a precise degrees or they ruin the substance inside the lava lamp) And the sale aaaociate, looked at me all confused Then said “ really your supposed to use a special kind of bulb, I guess that’s why all the floor models of the lava lamps got ruined right after I changed the bulbs” And at the moment he was trying to help me find the bulb I needed The blind leading the blind I worked at harbor freight when I was 19 Not only did I memorize every single sku number of every item we carried I taught myself how to use every last one. And do construction to this day and I’m 43 I loved my job and was always very knowledgeable about everything we sold. There’s maybe two employees in every store that actually feels that way about customer service and it’s super lame because sometimes u do need assistance Even worse when u need something like materials for a job u don’t want to run into a guy who’s trying yo “ fake it till he make it” If u get materials u need to have cut for your order and prepared before u leave by the time u get back ti the job And find out the size is wrong u have lost time that could make or break that job and customer I still give it 5 stars because of inventory and my overall need for brands like Milwaukee and channel lock that lame Lowe’s doesn’t carry and that’s the only other option we would have”

“The Customer Service at the Home Depot HB location has always been five star. They are helpful and pleasant and have always been efficient and kind... over the years I have purchased a ceiling fan, a desk lamp, paint products, had keys made and bought great plants fom the garden dept. I had items delivered there that I ordered online- the perfect mattress topper! Oh and a wonderful large area rug at a great price. Most recently, I used their truck rental service which as usual, turned out awesome! I typically buy my batteries and lightbulbs here, and they also have a great variety of beautiful fresh cut flowers!”

Words can’t describe how welcoming the gardens are ..Today I met a woman who had visited seal beach for the first time and was walking through the gardens saying this was her “happy place”. (So sweet)The general store that’s part of the gardens has a great selection of items. Definitely go tour it and support this local treasure.”
