“Carmel Valley Art Association has invited Hitchcock Road Animal Services to attend events, to help us promote our animals and generously waived the registration event for us! They are beyond friendly and gracious; they love animals and support our work by getting us into community events to showcase our shelter. Their location is lovely, they offer kids workshops and are very active in Carmel Valley. Stop by and shop locally for gifts and support local artists. Much love for Carmel Valley Art Association!”

“We were browsing stores on Lighthouse Avenue and were attracted by the wind chimes displayed outside Artisana Gallery, so we went inside. With the help of a friendly staff person, we found just what were seeking, a reasonably priced set of wind chimes in the right pitch range. There is a large selection of great sounding wind chimes. We got the Corinthian Bells 30" (color Plum), which have a delightful tone.”

“Had a wonderful experience shopping here and learning more about Oaxaca culture. We bought beautiful and well-made handcrafted materials and the owner told us about the different areas that each item came from and what the different animals and images symbolized on each item.”

“Wonderful little treat! Such a cute shop FULL of hidden treasures custom made by Babs, the owner. Plan on spending time looking at every inch because there's so many hidden pieces, art, and treasures tucked away in the displays and on the walls!

Also, stop in and check out her son Derek's brand new shirt and hat collection that's an homage to the marine research taking place in Monterey Bay.”

“Couldn’t be happier with both the art and the service. Aaron obviously is iconic and a legend with what he does. However, I have also been equally impressed with the service Andy has provided. Especially in a time where it seems that customer service is no longer existent. Top notch company. Highly Recommend! 5 Stars!!!”

“The facility lacks charm but the exhibits were pretty good. In particular, the Animaldom cartoons by Jo Mora were lovely, funny and well-displayed. The best of show were the three Mora drawings from his time among the Hopi. A special treat were the watercolors of historical sites in Monterey by Zella Conan. Bad news: the museum has no printed material about the artists available in the lobby.”

“Incredible place, exhibits change about once a month, and there are a lot of different art classes offered throughout the week. You usually have to be a resident artist in order to have your work displayed.”

“Wow, amazing gallery. Really beautiful photo collections with a lot of emphasis on popular culture such as Superman from Lynn Monroe, so that even younger people who less enjoy heavy museums of art, can enjoy a short stroll through the gallery. There are also slightly more classic images. The gallery has two floors and the entrance is from the street and free of charge. Anyone who walks around Carmel is worth going in.”

“Just purchased two oil artworks from Monica. Could not be more excited about each of them. Monica opened up her gallery just for my evening visit. That's my kind of people. Will post photos shortly once I obtain the works. -TS”

“I just purchased one of my first original pieces of art at Nancy Dodds Gallery, and I'm thrilled. My husband and I recently purchased a house, and we're starting to collect art on our travels. Nancy was so nice and helpful, and I love the vibe of the gallery. My lovely new painting by Zoya Scholis now hangs in my living room, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you, Nancy, for all your help!”

“Great little shop run by a husband and wife team. The wife is an artist whose work hangs on the walls along with family members and other local artists. Lots of gift options and decor for the home. Commissions can be done as well. Beautiful shop with great people. They can ship anywhere as well.”

“So great chatting with the kind owner - this is our second time to the gallery (me and my boyfriend) and we always love chatting with her and seeing the art. Our favorite item was the girl with bird painting by Smirnov. Thank you and we look forward to coming back soon!”

“I love bringing home artwork from travels- makes a much nicer souvenir than a piece of theme merchandise. I knew the area was known for galleries and was very hopeful. So thankful to have found Cheryl's place, because even though there were lots of pieces in Carmel I liked, they were at MUCH higher price point. Bringing home a lovely landscape, can't wait to display it.”

“WOW! Amazing lanterns and so many eye-catching items in this store. Yes, it is very expensive, but we are sure their rent is high also. Definitely a lot of "eye-candy" in here! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!”

“My wife and I walked in here during our tour of Carmel and aren’t we glad we did! All of the staff were lovely and their collection of photography is impressive. We walked away with two photographs, one from Michael Milner and one from Brett Wetson. A big thank you to Julia for all of her help!!”

From watercolor, acrylic, and oil paintings to printmaking, jewelry, woodwork, and glass art, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. One of the unique aspects of Venture Gallery is that there’s always an artist on duty, making every visit a personal and engaging experience. The exhibits change every two months, ensuring there’s always something new to discover. Conveniently located next to the Portola Plaza Hotel & Spa, it’s the perfect stop on the way to the Wharf, Custom House Plaza, or the Conference Center. A true gem in the heart of Monterey!”

“This shop was one of the few places that really attracted my attention when it came to interesting merchandise. I just love browsing a store that has a lot of variety with an international flare. A variety of eye catching clothing in lovely styles and colors. Spending time to explore is a must! You'll find singing bowls, drums, jewelry, cultural nick knacks, decorative items for the home, wind chimes, statuary, art work, rocks & crystals. The whole shop is filled with items from top to bottom. I would have loved to make several purchases, but the only downside for me, was that everything was too pricey! I'm a tourist on a budget, and I know that I can get many of these items much cheaper back home!”

“The garden area to walk through to get there is so magical. It reminds me of the Secret Garden. They have the Disney puzzle's there as well as all the beautiful paintings.”

“Awesome selection of original art pieces and furniture from Mexico. The owner Carlos is extremely friendly, and took the time to detail where each piece originated, as well as provided a back story on the artist that made the piece. I felt very welcomed into the store and had a fun time browsing. We bought a few pieces for our kitchen and dining room and we will definitely be back for more.”
