I am all about the food stopped in just because always driving by and see the signs. I got a rib plate and fish plate, the ribs just fell off the bone not very smokey but taste so good I'm going back today for seconds. Fish fry good not the best I have ever had but a solid value sides greens not that good potato salad and coleslaw standard but good. The yams deserve a review just because they are excellent and if they have peach cobbler just get some home made and just delivered when I was standing there got two servings it's amazing.

Bartenders are volunteer and work on tips, but they seem to enjoy it and the people are so nice!

Short stop to quench my thirst. Having recently joined VFW, stretching my legs a bit. At the time of stop, there was celebration of life taking place. Its located in high visibility spot right off busy road. Came in thru the back, bar to left and area for seating and food related open area to the right. Didn't know anyone there personally but spoke with older Navy Vet and crowd seems generally quiet and friendly. $4 for domestic seem high to me for Vet-oriented venue. Inside is setup for holding events, DJ style lighting and very homely. No issue personally, just not very inviting. Not high on my list but good to know your surrounding.

Go help support the VFA by purchasing their weekend food plates. They are really really really good. Like, a restaurant that I would give 5 stars to good because the flavor in all of that food is ????. Check it out and go early they often sell out and now I know why.

Amazing catfish plate for $10! Tastes great with yummy tartar and hot sauce. Nice size serving, seasoned and cooked just right! Candied yams are like dessert and the potato salad is great as are the greens. Cobbler is too rich for me. Bonus is a cornbread muffin! I love it for a quick Friday lunch and the lady at the counter is very nice as is the chef! Hoping to try the Chicken & Ribs soon, too......this is the catfish, yams & potato salad!!! Tip well for a good cause....thank you, VFW!
