Jackalope Pottery is an absolutely charming place and a true paradise for plant lovers! Their selection of plants is simply extraordinary, with an incredible variety of species, shapes, colors, and textures. Some of the plants are so unusual and spectacular that they look almost otherworldly. Every visit feels like discovering something new.
What makes this place even more special is the wonderful staff. Everyone is exceptionally kind, welcoming, accommodating, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. They are always available to answer questions, offer advice, and make the experience as pleasant as possible.
There is something truly magical about wandering through this place, surrounded by such an extraordinary collection of plants and beautiful garden treasures. I always leave feeling inspired and delighted.

Learning more about how California’s native plants have been used by Indigenous peoples for thousands of years—for food, shelter, medicine, and tools—also gave me a deeper appreciation for the natural and cultural history of this place.
This is exactly why I’m creating a California native plant garden: not just to have a beautiful garden, but to create something that belongs to California and supports its ecosystem. Theodore Payne Foundation is a wonderful place to learn, find inspiration, and get started.”

“This is a lovely shop and the employees are very helpful and kind. They genuinely care about the plants and every single plant I’ve purchased there has thrived once I brought it home (this in contrast to some shops where the plants health goes downhill pretty rapidly). The shop is stocked with pretty and unusual items, many by local artisans. And as I mentioned, every staff member I’ve interacted with has been knowledgeable and nice!”

“I called inquiring about a copper fitting. The attendant on phone actually asked to be placed on hold to make sure it was in stock. It was confirmed. Though driving to there, I haven't visited the area post burnt surroundings. Of course I saw the news outlet pictures, but seeing the aftermath just broke my heart. But my experience in the store was great.efficient, professional, and just pleasure to see all there beaming smiling faces. ♥️”
“I have been using Ramy's nursery for about 16 years now , as a landscaper the selection , quality and pricing are second to none , not to mention Tom's knowledge and personability . The fact the plants are grown on site means they are acclimated to the hot valley conditions which cannot be underestimated.”
“I'm so glad that there is a DIY in the area. The first time I stopped by here I found a white sapote tree in their garden center, something I've rarely seen anywhere. Then another time I was able to quickly find an assortment of faucet washers, one of which worked for me; after unsuccessfully searching Lowe's for one. DIY is not a huge warehouse, but that's an asset; you are likely to find what you want here quickly (I was only stymied by the lack of swamp cooler pads), and the workers are helpful. Also keep an eye out for their friendly house cats!”
“Love love love this spot! Francis is a sweetheart and she has a great selection of cacti and plants which change on a regular basis. Just recently purchased a cute agave plant which she kindly repotted for me. Have purchased multiple plants from her in the past too.”

“If you know nothing about plants this is the place to go. Bernie is AWESOME. Came in with a few ideas in mind but nothing specific and he was immediately so knowledgeable and helped out a lot with matching my check list with what i wanted in my plants. He also explained very detailed on each plant and how to take care of them. In the end he also helped me put all the plants and pots in the car. Will definitely come back :)))”

“I was in urgent need for some landscape supplies early in the morning and these guys were very close to me in SantaMonica and open early in the morning. Despite the low yelp reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I was greeted by Nick who is extremely friendly and very helpful. Seems to know everything and manage to get my project all in order within about 10 minutes and all with a smile. Great prices and wonderful service. If you need anything, don't waste your time at Home Depot. Just come here!!!”
