Old Mission Santa Ines 1804 is a beautiful and very beautiful Catholic mission and historical site in the Solvang area. It is a part museum and part historical site with an expansive lot. The mission itself is a beautiful place to visit, offering a peaceful and not very crowded atmosphere. Visitors can explore the wonderful property, including the “healing garden” and a rose garden with interesting rose varieties. The mission sells souvenir items, rosary beads, postcards, and pendants. It is a peaceful place and an oasis of serenity and care, reflective of the unique Solvang charm and hospitality. The valley view from the parking lot is stunning, incredible, and mystifying, offering beautiful valley views in the morning. It is a nice place for morning walks with lots of views of the natural Solvang region. The site provides a quiet place to sit and appreciate the rich history and is a recommended stop for anyone in the area.
This was a beautiful place to visit after spending all day in Solvang. The church was closed due to a private event but the “healing garden” and the property itself was wonderful to explore.
Although I am not Catholic (I am a born-again Christian), I was able to appreciate the rich history here
