This place serves its purpose and has a free parking lot. We wanted a cheap place to stay in Solvang and trust me you get what you pay for. The rooms aren't very pretty. They have weird setups. The lobby has no bathroom. At least, none I could find. The place really, really needs to be renovated. The carpets are depressing. The place is overall depressing. Who could ever expect this in such a nice town as Solvang with all the wineries around it?
Why do Santa Barbara hotels cost so much!!!!

We stayed at one of the cottages, and it seemed like something out of a story book. The garden was magical; it had small connecting bridges, a pond with koi, and at night the lights were beautiful. The cottage was roomy and newly renovated. The only issue we had was the Jacuzzi was not working well. But, the front desk was nice about it and gave us a discount and 2 bottles of wine. Overall, a pleasant experience -- we'll be back.

Cute hotel. Walking distance from shops and restaurants. Stayed in a loft room. Very nice, clean. It was quite when we stayed, no loud neighbors. Quick check inn/out, good service. Good hot breakfast included eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee. Only complaint would be not so great shower head.

In the beautiful Danish city of Solvang, we chose to stay at Wine Valley Inn. The hotel is very close to the downtown where most restaurants and gift shops are. You could just walk down to the downtown.
The room was warm and cozy. I really liked how they had a motion-detected light right near the step towards the washroom so you don't trip and fall in the night. That was really helpful and thoughtful. However, there were a few pitfalls. There wasn't any headboard on the bed which made it very hard to just sit back and relax or maybe watch TV. They have tried to revamp the bathroom to look quite modern however many things aren't very functional. The bath doesn't have enough edge at the bottom so all the water splashes out when you shower making the floor wet despite having a shower curtain. There was no countertop with the sink and that made it difficult to keep my makeup stuff or the toiletries. They set up an Honor bar in the room and the prices were specified as well.
They provide complimentary breakfast and the variety is good. They have an outdoor fireplace which we couldn't use as that place was occupied but I'm sure would be very nice to use on a winter night.
We stayed here just for a night so adjusted to the missing things in the room. I wouldn't want to stay here if we needed to stay for a longer time.

Although I wasn't happy with our room I had to change my review based on other factors:
Cons: Very outdated everything! Furniture particularly lights were old and dirty (lots of dusts and stains). Our room smelled like cigarettes although non-smoking ( I think because of old furniture). I ran the old wall fan all night long. The bed is in serious need of replacement. I didn't like bath and the weird dark shower. I don't suggest the stay with small children in current condition.
Pros: liked the complimentary breakfast. Front desk and staff are very helpful and nice. Really enjoyed the bike ride around the city. The hotel is supposed to go under renovations this coming winter. So we may come back.
