Terrible, they are never available if you have an emergency, and they up charge you for unneeded testing. They are also not on the cutting edge of medicine for senior animals. Very incompetent front desk that does not know how to keep track of charts or read them.

Greatly appreciate our first experience today w/ Valley of the Moon Vet Hospital. They took my pup in today two hours after I called about her illness, we did not have a vet here in Sonoma yet and they were so kind & helpful.Fairly priced and nice staff too, plus my girl loved the tech and vet both.

We have been taking my dog here since he was a puppy and have always had great experiences. They make every effort to get him in even if there is a busy schedule, and the doctors are extremely knowledgeable and responsive via email. Dr. Schwab once diagnosed a foxtail from an email I sent her when I was across the country! I highly recommend.

my dog was seen after moving here and less than a month later I took him to a specialty vet where he was diagnosed with hemangeosarcoma, a blood vessel tumor on the spleen that can rupture abruptly resulting in death. VotM vet missed every sign of this disease which is common in labrador retrievers. in addition when i asked them to set up a prescription for the carprofen (a generic) he was on they called in the name brand (rimadyl) instead which is 3x the cost, then tried to argue that it was not an error On their part. I did not go back.

I like the vets but the front office staff leaves something to be desired-snotty, rude, uncommunicative.

Went here to get some x-rays for me dog's front leg, no anesthesia needed, and they charged me through the nose for office visit, dog care, and x-rays....I've been to my fair share of Vet's and this has to be the most expensive vet visit I've ever seen BY FAR.....don't recommend this place unless you enjoy overpriced vet visits.

Do not bring your animals here Unless you want to overpay for incompetent care. And by overpay I mean bring your pet 4-5 times for simple things like vaccines or healthy dog check (literally had a check up and they just "forgot to check her vaccines" - tell me again what a check up is for - like exactly what did you charge me for?). It's already overpriced even by Sonoma standards- but to make people have multiple visits so you can bill them more is outrageous. Also as an elderly cat owner - to be told "your cat needs to be seen in the next 24 hours or she will die - but we can't see you for over a month." Should rise to the level of medical malpractice. If you can not provide care to your animals in a reasonable time frame maybe you should STOP INFLATING THE NUMBER OF UNNECESSARY VISITS SO YOU CAN MAKE MORE MONEY and actually prioritize seeing the animals who need care.

After many years of being loyal clients with multiple pets being treated ok by the vets, the last few visits have been awful. Yesterday was the worst when we were turned away when I called after my dog had been violently throwing up. I suspected she had rated a wisteria pod, which are poison so I just assumed since we are 5 minutes away from the clinic someone could have a look at her. They said NO followed by, "if I CARED about my dog I would take her to the ER!" I was clearly upset and asked the receptionist to please check again with our regular vet and she came back with the same answer. We are clearly aware of how hard EVERYBODY everywhere are trying to navigate this Pandemic, but to turn away a potentially dying dog was devastating. We were lucky enough to find another vet in town who squeezed us in her busy schedule and everything worked out. We've endured some of the curt front desk people over the years AND paid the exorbitant price for service, but no more. We're grateful we found a compassionate Dr who took our dog with no appointment and made it work!
