“We were in South Lake Tahoe for a weekend getaway. Unfortunately for us, one of the wheels on our stroller was not functioning properly. So we looked up local hardware stores and came across Lagenfeld Ace Hardware. We walked in and were greeted by Elaine. She welcomed us in and asked us how she could be of an assistance. We explained to her our situation and Elaine jumped into action. She took our stroller to the back and in about 10 minutes she came back out and had fixed the problem! It turned out that the beam that connected the wheels was bent on one side which caused the wheel to wobble while in motion. Elaine straightened out the beam for us and the stroller was as good as new.

Elaine went above and beyond for us and it is something that my family and I will not forget. Thank you Elaine!

“These guys are actual gems of Tahoe. I was riding my bike directly across the street in front of Meeks when i unexpectedly crashed & flipped not knowing that my bike handles had broke in the middle causing the axis point to swing around so my handles wouldn't stay up. A guy who works at Meeks was standing outside saw the whole thing and checked on me and waved me to cross the street and come over. He called another employee out and suddenly I had 3 whole men fixing my bike with whatever they had. I was on my way to work and worked at a high end jewelry store at the time where looks /presentation is important so I was able to clean off my clothes/touch up from the fall while they worked. I'm a 27yo woman I support myself just moved here I have no family and I felt like I was being taken care of by older brothers uncles and a father type all of a sudden. No flirting. No weirdness just total support. They didn't even know my name. They just showed compassion for my fall- fixed my bike for me as best as they could and sent me on my way. I would've been close to an hour late & instead was only 15 and still showed up looking pretty to work despite my fall bc of them. I recommend everyone to this spot simply because of the high caliber men who work here.”
