“Great place in South Lake Tahoe, not too far from anything - mostly about 10-15 min drive for most of the attractions, eateries. This place is very close to local shopping and two highly rated breakfast places. Both Berts and Ernies are within walkable distance. We chose a King suite, the King bed isn’t bad but the two other beds in a separate room need some work. Creeky beds and my son who’s 6.4” cant fit in there. The property shows its age, bathroom needs work, floors were dirty. No cooling but only heating. Its not bad for the price, but with few tweaks, it can be really a great place. WiFi is patchy but who needs internet access during vacation.”

“Overall, I liked this place, with several pros and cons. I am also not positive I would return.
Pros: location is pretty good for South lake Tahoe. The grounds are very nice, the renovated Rubicon rooms were generally nice as well. We liked the kitchenette and the bathroom in particular. Bed was fine. Toiletries were great, too. The free drink was a nice touch, and the lodge looked nice.
Cons: not a great value. It was pretty expensive for what was a remodeled motel room. The first floor in the Rubicon building is loud. You can hear everyone and everything upstairs or from the rooms next to us on both sides. There was nowhere to really sit in our room, other than the bed. There were two uncomfortable stools and a bench. There was a small patio outside with Adirondack chairs, but no little table to set your mug on, and the patio was so small that there wasn't room for one either.
The Rubicon building feels like a hasty afterthought. Even the paint job in the remodel in our room was sloppy, it just felt disconnected and out of place. Certainly not worth almost $300 a night. I would be willing to stay here again, but not in the Rubicon building. I feel like a nice breakfast should be included at this price point, and there is nothing.”
“The rooms are large and has a kitchen equipped with Microwave, Dishwasher, Coffee Machine, Cutlery etc. But the biggest disappointment was NO AC (Air Conditioner) and limited parking on premises (they might ask you to park on another street). They provided tower fan and another portable fan to keep the room cool, there was a ceiling fan as well but all these didn't help to keep the room cool in hot summer days!
They do have a swimming pool and spa.
I would recommend this place in fall or winters but not in summers if you are looking to stay cool on a hot day!
They provide breakfast on a first come first serve basis and not a lot of options, just typical oatmeal, donuts, coffee, boiled eggs, fruits, etc. They also provide free coffee and fresh popcorn for free to all the guests, which is a plus.
Location is good and very close to gondola rides, casinos, beaches and restaurants!”
“Pros: Great location - very walkable. Clean rooms, clean pools. If you like doughnuts, you'll enjoy the breakfast. Nice staff - cute dog in the lobby.
Cons: LOUD. Housekeeping starts working at 7AM, slamming doors, pushing carts, talking loudly, playing music, and they do not stop until nearly midnight. It sucks to be woken up every morning at 7AM while on vacation and kept up because of housekeeping.
Other than the noise issue, we had a good stay. If we stay here again, it will only be if we are guaranteed a room on the opposite side of the building away from housekeeping headquarters.”

“Absolutely loved staying here for Christmas. Unlimited hot chocolate (and other beverages), extremely wholesome lobby with board games, fairy lights, and a projector playing classic holiday movies. The room was clean and had really unique decor. The walk from here to the ski gondola is less than 8 minutes, super convenient. Would love to stay here again!”
“Our stay at the Lodge was great. From a super smooth check-in, to quite helpful staff that addresses our needs during the stay. Location could not be better. Parking is easy and safe. Pro tip: the welcome cookies are delicious and they encourage you to grab more than 1 ?”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Coachman hotel in Lake Tahoe. The room was clean and well-decorated. The atmosphere of the hotel was phenomenal. There were excellent amenities, including a coffee bar, pool, fire pits, breakfast, and a bar. The hotel also offers passes to the nearby beach. The staff were kind and friendly. The location was great! It was a quiet area but also near Heavenly/Stateline as well as Lakeside Beach. I look forward to our next stay at The Coachman, hopefully for a longer duration.”

“A good Hilton branch Hampton Inn.
Pros:
- Courteous staff as always
- Clean, modern rooms
- Comfortable, medium firmness mattress + pillows
- FREE EV charging x 7 Tesla stations
- There is recycling bins in every room
- Free breakfast has a selection of food (sausage links/patties, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, waffles, roast potatoes, omelette/bacons, oatmeal, apple, orange, banana, bread, bagels, muffins, scones, cereals + cows milk, juice, cut fruits which always run out)
- Mini-fridge and microwave in every room.
- Smart TV
- Finally, no more mini sizes toiletry items. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion were of good quality. Skin and hair felt soft using these sulfate and paraben free products, BUT they are not fragrance free unfortunately.
Cons:
- No plant-based milk option for those who are allergic/sensitive to cow's milk. This is small problem.
- Water pressure is quite weak, and shower head is one of those cheap $10 Wal-Mart ones without handheld option. This is the bigger problem and quite a nuisance.”

“Looking for a great family reunion spot? This is it! Our group of 18, which occupied a three-bedroom, several two-bedrooms, and a studio, had more than enough room to feel comfortable and not be on top of each other. The kids and adults alike enjoyed the many activities offered both on-site and nearby, making it a fantastic getaway for everyone.”

“Cute and very clean! It's just the A/C thing... i opened windows at night, but there's not even a fan in the room to put near a window to draw cool air in.
It was too warm in the room to sleep and they keep very short business hours so i never really got the chance to go to the office and ask about a fan.
Other than that, everything was lovely, just be aware of it if you are going in the summer and run warm.”
“Great hotel with a beautiful view of the lake. There’s a pool, hot tub and game room as well as a few picnic tables with lake views and free parking. All the staff were super friendly and the room was spacious, well decorated and clean, but a little bit dark. The hotel is walking distance from the lake, multiple restaurants (with discounts for hotel guests) a bowling alley etc. I would definitely stay here again!!”

“My wife and I came here for our ten year wedding anniversary, and had a wonderful stay. It was quaint, and cute. Very peaceful, and relaxing. We spent time by the fire pit with our little dog. Corie the manager was so helpful, and kind. We will definitely be going back.”
“Pros: Place is nice and cozy. Shower has good hot water, kitchenette is nice for longer term stays. Wood stove keeps it very warm. Owner / manager is not onsite but is very responsive via phone / text.
Cons: Needs to be cleaned better. When I checked in there was trash in the garbage, hair around the bathroom sink, mold in the coffee filter, and junk in the nightstand. Not alot of space to unpack you bags.”
“This place is neat, super clean, well maintained, and better than name brand hotels I’ve stayed in recently that cost 3-4x the price. The rooms are not big, but def big enough. And I’ll take clean and comfy and well appointed every time over big chain hotels. Pride of ownership shows, and the owners being involved makes all the difference. I’d stay here again and again. Also, fantastic location.”

“I had a great stay at Tahoe Valley Lodge. The room was clean, spacious, and clearly well cared for. Our room had a refrigerator, microwave, air conditioner, and a fireplace. Everything felt tidy and comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a long day of biking and hiking. You can tell the staff takes pride in maintaining the property. It can be a little loud since it's right off a busy road but the traffic dies down at night and wasn't an issue for us— I’d definitely return and recommend it to others looking for a comfortable spot in South Lake Tahoe.”

“Jimmy the owner is amazing. We came up for a concert. The price of the rooms are affordable. Perfect for a weekend getaway.
Rooms are clean, ac blows cold and the location is perfect for heading downtown. Jimmy also gives you a pass to a private beach. I would recommend and definitely stay again.”
“Place is in a great location, many places with in walking distance. Room had a few issues, floor wasn't clean in room and restroom. Also there was no table with chairs, had to sit on bed to eat. They have no front desk employees, everything is electronic check in. They text you your door lock code that doesn't work until 4:00 pm and you email that you are checking out by 11:00 am. Price was in middle of value compared to other places in same area.”

The service all around was spectacular! Definitely coming back!”
“I have stayed in almost every motel in South lake Tahoe ...I wish I came here first. The room is clean..I mean clean! Microwave mini fridge... bathroom area with iron and iron board.i had nothing to complain about coming from staying at other motels like A an A or Elevation inn , pinewood inn..on 50 same price basically maybe 20$ more but 20$ is well spent!!!. Also has very cute wood features for the headboard and closet space! Nicely folded towels clean newer carpet nice room for the price !! Definitely appreciate a well kept CLEAN room ! Thank you .”
“So there was a last min cancellation coz our friends had to stay back for office work . The owner understood our problem and waved off cancellation charges even if it was last min . Very nice people. The room was also decent for the price . Best part is it is located in the middle of the main area so everything is nearby. Good experience overall.”
“Could not recommend this place enough! Rooms were cute and cozy! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Loved the free s’mores, movies, bikes, and numerous other amenities. This was in a great location within just a short drive to trails and popular restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!”
