“We stayed in January, room was clean, warm enough, bed and pillow were comfortable. There was everything that I needed. I loved the tea and coffee. To be honest kitchen stuff was great. ? I recommend Black Bear Lodge strongly. The only thing that I wish they add to King room with balcony is two armchairs.”
“This place is adorable and charming. It’s definitely the nicest and most welcoming in the area in my opinion. We brought our dogs and while it’s a steep fee, we felt the amenities made it ok.
The rooms are poorly designed, some of the mattresses are absolutely comically awful and I’m certain the building is about one snowstorm away from a collapse but I would stay here again!”
“Spent 6 nights here, felt very welcome. Beds comfortable, showers powerful and hot, smart TV, fridge, coffee making facilities. Good location, board games in the lobby, pool and hot tub, double lounge beds by the pool. Katrina was spectacular for us, an asset to the place, would definitely return”
“My family and I have been coming here for years and LOVE it here! We are always greeted with a smile upon arrival and the awesome staff are so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are nicely furnished and decorated and included is an updated fully stocked kitchenette, with a good-sized fridge (an added plus for those who want to just hang out and eat in).
Stardust offers SO MANY wonderful amenities, all of which are actually free of charge for its guests!- DVD rentals, heated pool, (towels provided upon request), 2 outdoor jacuzzis (whereby, in the evening, you can enjoy relaxing in, while gazing at the stars above ), ping pong table, BBQ grills, continental breakfast, an Activities Center with an adjoining work-out room, rental of bikes etc. during the summer, snowshoes, etc., during the winter, really FUN weekly-planned activities (small fee for the yummy dinners)…so many to list! It’s great!
Can’t say enough of Kenny, Stardust’s amazing manager , takes great pride and puts tremendous effort in making sure that its guests have a great experience at the Stardust….and all with a smile! He’s the BEST!

“We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Jay lodge! Although it is a hotel, this was clearly explained and the room had so many great touches like updated fixtures and nice flooring, as well as a king size bed, even a little towel set for a dog if you bring one. The location was perfect for all that we wanted to do, which included going to the lake, the brewery right down at the corner was fabulous just next door to base camp, all in all very pleased!”
“We had a great stay at Tahoe Mountain Inn! It's affordable, the room was clean, cozy, well-maintained, and had a comfortable bed. The location is also convenient for exploring the Tahoe area. Overall, it was a really pleasant stay, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Tahoe.”

“We had such a wonderful time that we decided to extend our trip by an extra night. The front desk was incredibly accommodating—instead of making us wait around for a room change or checkout, they smoothly moved us into a fantastic new room right away so we wouldn't lose any of our day. The rooms are beautiful, modern, and the in-room spa/fireplace vibe is unbeatable. Incredible location right by the lake and Heavenly. We will definitely be back!”

Our group of 18, which occupied a three-bedroom, several two-bedrooms, and a studio, had more than enough room to feel comfortable and not be on top of each other. “Cute and very clean! It's just the A/C thing... i opened windows at night, but there's not even a fan in the room to put near a window to draw cool air in.
It was too warm in the room to sleep and they keep very short business hours so i never really got the chance to go to the office and ask about a fan.
Other than that, everything was lovely, just be aware of it if you are going in the summer and run warm.”

“2 nights with our small dog and she loved it! Slept by the fireplace . Perfect kitchen set up with kuerrig coffee.
Rooms: My only issue with the room was no safty bolt lock on inside main door to lock out strangers from breaking into room. Every place I ever stayed at had a lock inside to keep door from being forced open. However we loved it there. The yard outside with the trees was very nice with games too. Our furbaby didn't want to come inside. It was very quiet. A comfy bed and very clean.
Nearby activities: Heavenly villiage shops nearby and places to eat . 2 Resturants just cross the street”

“This is a funky older place right on the lake. The location could not be better. While the complex suffers from some deferred maintenance, we enjoyed our unit which allowed us to step off our lanai/ patio right onto a small beach and into the lake. The lanai/ patio is large and great for people and sunset watching. The units have full kitchens and plenty of BBQs for guests to use. Right next door is a nice park where you can rent water toys like kayaks, SUPs, and the like. Overall great little place near downtown South Lake Tahoe.”

“Cabin No. 11: Super cozy, very well thought out (not too) tiny house!
We were 4 huge adolescents and a short mom, and we were super comfy. The adolescents cooked, the mom cleaned, lounging afterwards was great, the bedroom mezzanine works very well, blankets were warm, towels fluffy!
The forced air heater is a bit on the loud side, but keeps everything nicely warm. The kitchen was well equipped. We were not too far out to go to Kirkwood in the morning.”

“I had a great stay at Tahoe Valley Lodge. The room was clean, spacious, and clearly well cared for. Our room had a refrigerator, microwave, air conditioner, and a fireplace. Everything felt tidy and comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a long day of biking and hiking. You can tell the staff takes pride in maintaining the property. It can be a little loud since it's right off a busy road but the traffic dies down at night and wasn't an issue for us— I’d definitely return and recommend it to others looking for a comfortable spot in South Lake Tahoe.”

“We are loving our stay... before Christmas not much snow, so disappointed snow-boarders abound- - but this a a great place to relax. We love our 2 bdroom on the 6th floor, beautiful views and nicely appointed. We brought a few meals with us- it's easier. We went to Happy Hour 2- 6pm, lots of selection- hubby had wine, I had a John Daly (hard ice tea) . Favorite spot is in front of the gas fireplace. Relaxing is easy! Kitchen is small but has enough dishes, tools, pans and a dishwasher. Easy to have dinner ready- 4 person table & chairs Pool & spa (inside outside- hard to explain but easy access.”

Maggie’s restaurant is next door in Desolation Hotel also the Coachman hotel has amazing coffee and breakfast. Bagels are from Tahoe bagel which are delicious. Naked fish is walkable for sushi. “Just a 10min walk from the Gondola at Heavenly! The heater and appliances were quiet, the bed and pillows were super comfy, and the staff was very kind and helpful. It was nice to stay somewhere with in-person check in.
The room included a fridge and coffee machine, and is on the same block as many restaraunts. Once you park, you dont need to drive through town or to get to Heaenly.
Perfect spot for a ski weekend, would definitely recommend!”
