I've been a customer for several years. I rent out a several storage units here at 80 S Spruce Public Storage. Since day one public storage only provided me with one gate access code for all the units that i rent. The end of January 2024, I decided to return one of the storage unit a few days before the end of the month but PUBLIC STORAGE STILL charged ME for the return unit. I've requested for the refund but they refused my refund due to I used the gate access code on 2nd of February which I only have one gate access code for all unit that I rent. This is not my mistake and it is not fair to me as a customer. If public storage can do this to me, they will do to everyone else...Please keep this in mind.

Stay away from this storage location, you can never find the manager for questions ans when using the "live chat" at the Kiosk, most if the agents wont help you either & will just repeat what you already can see if you go on the website. Very frustrating dealing with this people and the company as a whole! But when it comes to processing your payment there wont be any issues & get the money in your bank account in a matter of secondsBut if you need assistance your out ofLuck!!! Plus there is someone living in one of the storage in this location not to mention how dirty everywhere specially in the corridors and the only elevator! Hope this company someday get out of this bussiness coz they only serve themselves and have no care about their customers!

The unit and the hallways felt dirty, no one ever cleaned/swept. There seemed to be someone who I don't think was housed, using one of the units. Closing hours were only until 6pm. There was never a manager onsite when I wanted to ask a question. Even though I moved out of the unit the 2nd of the month, they charged for a full month's rent instead of prorating the cost.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. DO NOT store your items at this location. My unit was broken into and all of our belongings were taken. No one ever answers the phone at either phone line and we’ve seen people actually living in one of the storage units. The hallways smell like urine and it’s a disgusting establishment.

I like this public storage unit! It has a gated entrance which is safe. Thank you public storage 160 and Farhana for helping me out with a smooth move-out process, one phone call and my account is closed, swift and sweet!

They have a public bathroom amongst the lockers building, (only one that I've seen) but it is always locked?? And you wonder why people are relieving themselves in the stairwell, gross and yuck I know!! Open the bathroom and stop raising the rent in the spaces every 6 months it's ridiculous!!!

Was told that I would be prorated on the move-out just like I was on the move-in. However, even though I moved out on the 2nd they still charged the full month's rent amount and will not provide a prorated refund. While I was moving in, the gentleman servicing the units let me know that he found a homeless person that that broke in and was sleeping in one of the units. Not sure how secure it really is. Aside from the convenient remote access to the property/units, this was a poor experience. I would recommend finding somewhere else to store your stuff.

BEWARE!! You will NOT get a refund when you move out before the end of the month! They will keep ALL of your money! Move out the 2nd of the month and they will keep the FULL month while they rent out your unit to someone else. This is not this location specific, this is ALL Public Storage.

I’ve been a loyal customer since 2017. 2 days ago I decided to move out. The unit is cleared and cleaned, but there is no property manager or worker on site. Office hours are listed on the door, and the office has appeared to be cleaned out and empty during those office hours. There is no signage on the door directing to another location.I used the messaging center on the app and website. Received no responses. I’ve used the virtual messenger and it was not able to “assist” me. I called and spent over an hour waiting on hold for customer service to just tell me I need to speak with the property manager because they don’t have access to my account. After I already mentioned there is no property manager on site to speak to.Trying to move out of this location is a hassle. All the Public storage customer services are not helpful.

They should be open 24x7 especially since it's a key/password based entry. It's super annoying and inconvenient

Got broken into twice. Now this place has no one staffing location. Machine not readily available. Hv to go down street to make payment. They keep saying they're renovating the place but s ema like that's been going on for two years

You'd think a company with with thousands of storage units would know how to get a door fixed. You'd be wrong. When I moved in April 2020 the door was a little funky and was obviously coming loose from the wall. Eight months later after countless reminders at the office and conversations the district manger, the problem is worse and no solution is in sight. The door only opens half way and I have to stand on the handle to make it close. Apparently that is satisfactory to Public Storage. To add insult to injury, they have now changed the lock without providing me with access. That was to let the contractor in two weeks ago. Where is the contractor? Nobody knows. But have no fear! Public Storage does know how to withdraw the rent payment from my checking account exactly on schedule. Whether they can provide access to the storage space or not.
