We have been going to the Nugget in Summerland for 20 something years! Always found the food great and the employees welcoming to locals and tourists alike! We are witnessing a change in there management and employees! Far and few are the welcoming smiles when we walk in the door! Tonight my husband and I asked for a booth, and one was available and were denied! 15 minutes later they gave it to anothet couple!? Not sure why they are turning away good customers! But we probably won't be back! Miss the old school people who know their customers

Great local hangout, decorated back in the Reagan era. Fun, rustic vibe with the ambiance of an old tavern, a big bar full of friendly locals. Good comfort food.

The waiter was so pleasant and prompt. The omelets were delicious and generous and reasonably priced. Decor inside is a hoot!!!

Great restaurant ! We were visiting Summerland from France this January, and had a night out at The Nugget : the food was delicious, the atmosphere is very typical and friendly, and the staff was very pleasant. We had an amazing time and a super nice chat with one of the waiter.

Had an early NYE drink and dinner with my daughter. Loved the causal atmosphere, western theme and down home food. We shared the macaroni and bacon appetizer, decedent and scrumptious. Also enjoyed a burger and pulled pork sandwich. Big servings! Will definitely be back:)

The WORST food and service I have ever had. I grew up in Carpinteria my whole life. This afternoon, my husband and I went to get some lunch. I ordered the Summerland Salad and asked if I could have steak instead if chicken. The waitress said she would see if she could do that. She never came back to say if she could or not. The waitress was also working as bartender too. When my order came there was steak on it. The smell and taste of the meat was so horrible, I literally thought it was marinated in cow manuer. I took the meat off the salad and set it aside. Never once did the waitress come over to ask how the food was. I had to flag down someone for my check. When I got the check the manuer meat was an additional $9 charge for the overpriced salad. I will NEVER go back to the Nugget. It has really gone down hill. So sad , it use to be so good.
